From the fair city.
With Kevin Barry & Tucker Daniel
Hello everyone, hope you are all well this week and the birds are doing the business for you.
Last weekend was a busy one for myself with my 8 year old twin girls making their first communion and having to mark the birds Saturday evening due to the Mallow race being postponed until the Sunday because of bad weather on the south coast, I was again indebted to Tomo and Alan Cole who looked after my birds again this week, I simply couldn't race without the lads help and am very grateful to both of them. Back to the communion and its getting more like a wedding these days and to have two together is a real handful but the girls had a ball, as did Lorraine who had the great job of dressing the two of them for the day, luckily they left me out of this chore and all I got to do over the weekend was to drive, be quiet and hold all the money they collected. The first and last tasks were no problem but the middle one is a little harder. Going around the city visiting family and friends is a great way to keep in touch with people you haven't seen in years but if I never had another cup of tea again it wont be too soon.

My twin girls Emily and Ciara.
On to the race and as I have said above it was a Sunday lib this week from Mallow approx 130 mile into a south west wind, the lib was 8-15am witch suited most of the fanciers as it still gave you most of Sunday to do what you normally do.
Trim R.P.C.
To the newest club in the fed first and the fastest pigeon of the day goes to Tony Morgan doing 1631ypm this one is a 2 year old widowhood hen given to Tony by Tom Fagan of Celbridge and down from Davy Blacks stock, she was 4th from Sennen Cove last year and when I asked if she was going to go to the stock loft after this big win or back over the water again this year Tony explained that the hen was barren and even if she could lay she was still going , so watch out for her when we get to the water, a good day all round at the Morgan household as they also took 2nd club on 1467, and 3rd on 1447. Des Rainey has the next 3 in the club for 4th, 5th and 6th.
Ballymun R.P.C.
Austin Dillon has the best one out in Ballymun a pigeon bred by Tom Nelson doing 1621, M/M Emerson take second spot and the breeder of the winner Tom Nelson finishes up in 3rd position himself, so a good day all round for him.
Shelbourne 11/ 186
Jimmy Toner has them on song this week with a couple of good ones for 1st and 3rd doing 1599 and 1588, winners already this year Ingle Bros & Son split Jims two birds for second place on 1589. Mickey Byrne, Duffy & Sons scoop the next 3 positions, with 3 birds he must have taught were let go in the Curragh they were so close together doing 1554, 1554 again and 1550, who needs ETS
Sarsfield R.P.C. 39/611
Its Brendan Stafford & Sons again for the 2nd week on the bounce taking the red card in my own club on 1577.193 with a yearling Pallet/Van Reet widowhood cock, it's the parents second year in the stock loft and came from a top U.K. loft with winning blood all through them. The sire has a couple of red cards to his name and the dam is a sister to many first prize winners. It was too close to call before the bang off with M/M Padner Byrne for the top spot and he only misses out by a decimal to finish second on 1577.005. Anto "Louis" Killeen has them coming into form and takes 3rd on 1573. Pat Craven is 4th on 1569.4 with Paddy Moran collecting the noms in 5th on 1569.2 another close one. John Farrell is again in the result and takes the 6th position.
Finglas R.P.C. 26/720
Derek Cummins Son & Dann wins this week with the same Belg rung pigeon that won the Barleycove open last year so watch out for him again next week this time the winning velocity is 1574.05, Spike Emmett is having a terrific opening to the season with a win under his belt already, he is not far away from Derek this week and takes second spot on 1572, David Turner comes in for 3rd place on 1570 with M/M Declan Killeen showing a bit of form for 4th and 5th 1566 and 1557, already a fed topper this year James Boland & Dtr complete the top six on 1546.

DUBLIN NORTH EAST 13 members sent 310 birds.
Getting the red card this week is the newest member to the club Mick Flood, after a few years out of the sport .Mick decided to get a few birds back and joined the North East, when I say a few I mean a few as all he has Is 12 old birds to race the season, sending just 6 this week it's great to see you don't need a big team to winThe winner is a yearling Janssen cock bred by his brother Val flying widowhood.
1st Mick Flood 1564, 2nd Billy Harris & son 1537, 3rd Val Flood & son, 4th Jim McGovern 1525 and 5th Mr & Mrs Hayden.
Donnycarney RPC Mallow 27-04-08 18 sent 255 birds.
Taking 1st place this week was club secretary Ken Knight with a yearling Blue w/f Cock doing 1536.3. Ken fancied this bird since it was his DTW and scooped a nice few bob. This bird had won the nom last week and was the club winner of the disastrous Thurles comeback race last season so he's earned his corn. In 2nd place on 1535.6 were the ever consistent Daniel Bros with a three year old Blue Hen. Mr & Mrs O'Driscoll were 3rd on 1532 with a yearling Blue Pied Cock, M. Feeney & Son were 4th with a yearling Blue Hen on 1524. These first 4 birds were all clocked within about 40 seconds. J. Whelan & Dtrs had a four year old Cheq Cock on 1519 for 5th place and Tommy Stacey was 6th with a two year old Cheq Cock on 1500.
Cabra R.P.C 22 / 443
After winning last week, C. Brennan took 1st and 2nd this week with velocities of 1584.061 & 1581.542 certainly the man to beat at the moment. Also in again this week was M. Mc Manus taking 3rd spot with a vel of 1579.177 and the partnershipof J.O'Callaghan & M. Farrell vel 1577.065. 5th went to J.Nash with a vel of 1574.323. 6th went to K. Hughes vel 1571.853.
Greenhills & Dist R.P.C. 18/437
In another really close finish P. Carr takes the spoils in the Greenhills after 3 birds came in on the same yard, the winner doing and look at these velocities 1571.9, just behind in second is Brian Brady having a terrific season on 1571.8 and 3rd is Nadger Smith on 1571.2, I bet there were no finger nails left there on Sunday. 4th spot goes to Bobby Traynor on 1564, P. Daly & Sons are 5th on 1561 and Brian Brady finishes it off in 6th on 1557.
Over to the Northside & Dist now where 21 sent 323

Another fancier to take all the positions in his club and this for the 3rd week on the trot is Ray Matthews in Dun Laoirghe club. The first, second and forth birds are from his Janseen/Verheye birds and the other three are from his Van De Weyer stock, the velocities range from the winner doing 1569.5 to the 6th place bird doing 1459, terrific flying from a loft bang in form
