JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G
Next up on the N.I.P.A Race Programme was a trip down to the coast of Co. Cork in Pilmore Beach.
The Mighty N.I.P.A fleet travelled down on Sunday night for a liberation on Monday the 22 nd of May
due to a bad forecast of weather across the weekend. A total of 475 Members sent 11,796 Birds to
Pilmore Beach. The Birds were liberated at 10:00 AM in a Fresh Northerly Wind.
‘The Magician’ works his magic for J J McCabe

The Winning Bird from the Race belongs to John J McCabe of Millvale H.P.S in Section G.
What a Season JJ has been having racing out of his skin week in week out. Tallying up great

Section Fermoy. 38 th National, 4 th Section Skibbereen National and Now 1 st Open from Pilmore Beach

named as ‘The Magician’. As he got out of the hamper 3 times on Sunday night when JJ was
hampering them to go to the club for race marking. ‘The Magician Sire is a Van Heerke bird which
was purchased by best friend the late Ron McKelvey from Wall, Lunt & Green and the Dam is a
Stefan Lambrechts from a kit of 6 young birds gifted by good friend Ian Gibb. The Sire was also in the

more delighted when finding out the Open Winners Sire was from our great friend Wee Ron who I
miss and think about all the time. There is no doubt that Wee Ron is pushing your birds across the
finish line JJ.

That’s another week done and dusted for the mighty N.I.P.A. in what turned out to be a very hard
days race for the birds. It was great to see our birds come home from a tough Pilmore Beach 169
mile, and they flew every mile of it lol. This race will stand them in good stead for the future to build
onto. Big Thank you again to everybody for their kind feedback on my reports, it really means a lot

and gives me a great boost, it’s been great chatting to everyone and hearing all your birds’ stories
from the build-up and after the race. I would like to thank everybody for help in gathering info for
myself as it gives me a great help in completing my reports. I kindly ask for all club
representatives/race secretaries within the covered sections to contact myself to be included in my
weekly Reports, With Winners Photos, Winning Pigeons Info, and any other information looking to
be published.
Thank you for taking the time to read through my N.I.P.A Journey’s End Report
Yours in Sport , Jordan Hughes
