Auctioneers Comment: We like to bring the very best to Blackpool and in keeping with that we have the famous Vandenbrande Bros, a strain that has raced with distinction in both the UK & in Ireland with Gibb & Byrne. In the UK the racing of D Rowley & Son is legendary in the Worcester & Wolverhampton Feds putting up massive results with over 7,000 birds competing. Other star lofts who have done well include J Hulse & Son, Kev Head, Graham Owen, Darren Burton, S & D Pearce, B Summers and Wes Whitehouse. Their record in the KD Berlaar hot-bed is second to none having won many Championships, Ace Bird, and many, many 1sts over the last 10 seasons. It is some achievement to be ahead of some of the top lofts in the Region including Lambrechts and Heylen. Look at some of the results in 2010: Algemeen Kampioen Quiverain – 1st Lambrechts Cryiel 300p, 2nd Vandenbrande Gebr 280p, 3rd Heylen Gert 234p. Algemeen Kampioen Noyon – 1st Vandenbrande 337p, 2nd Lambrechts Cyriel 257p, 3rd Ceulemans Marcel 151p. Algemeen Kampioen Noyon/Quivrain – 1st Vandenbrande Gebr 617p, 2nd Lambrechts Cyriel 557p, 3rd Heylen Gert 323p. To be able to compete successfully in the Berlaar sprint hot-bed only the best will do. Blackpool is the venue in 2011, I do hope to see you there!
