Obituary - Charlie Osbourne (Sarsfield)

Post by willie reynolds »

It is with great sadness I have to inform the fancy of the death of Charlie Osbourne of the Sarsfield club in Dublin after a short illness.
Charlie was one of life's great characters, every time you were in his company he made you laugh. A pigeon man for as long as I can remember and a fantastic club man, being on many committees and doing whatever had to be done including getting shot at during an attempted robbery (that was one of his favorite story's of which he had many) ,
He ran the shows every year in the club and also took charge of dart teams down through the years.

Every season when racing started you could always hear him shouting bring on the water, he loved channel racing and was the proud owner of a gold medal from France only pigeon in the club in race time. Anyone who ever had a pint with him will know the medal, he wore it around his neck on a chain and whipped it out at every opportunity always for a laugh.
He was a big Elvis fan and wore his quiff with pride and god help you if you touched it.

Anyway he is gone to join his beloved wife Marie who will have the tea ready for him upstairs. Sincere condolences to his family, sons Anthony who also races in the club, Derek and daughter Suzanne.

He will be sadly missed.
All the best mate and rest in peace.
From all the members of the Sarsfield R.P.C.
