Due to the weather the NIPA race from Penzance was delayed for the second year, as last time the birds were race marked on Saturday evening for a race on Monday. Other Irish Organizations released early but the NIPA delayed released until 10.45am in a Lt North Westerly wind and got a good race although a number of birds were missing on the day. Six x 1st Sect winners fill the Top 6 positions, overall winner the Newry & Dist loft of J J McCabe doing velocity 1330. Their yearling Blue Cheq hen has been named “Champion Leecroft Belter” bred from a Kevin Carlolan Busschart crossed with a Paddy Lue Luc van Coppernolle, both bought at Hospice Sale in Ballyholland 2011. The duplicate Old Bird Classic was won by Jeff Greenaway of Dromore, this loft has raced well all season. As usual we would like the details of all the 1st Sect winners and where possible a photo, either through the club PO or Admin person, or from the winners themselves. To ensure the winners get deserved coverage every club should have a member looking after publicity. NIPA lofts should be making claims to the Irish Region re Meritorious Awards in each Section, individual bird performance from Talbenny (2) and Penzance. Claims to Robert Reid inside 14 days please.

East Down Combine Penzance -

Final race for East Down lofts before France was Penzance, flown after a hold-over on Monday 24th June, birds released at the early time of 8.00am in a North West wind. It turned out a hard fly with the 1st Open won by W McMaster & Son from Ballywalter recording velocity 1190. Joe McGreevy from Crossgar was runner-up doing velocity 1160 and this bird topped the West Section.
