Farming Life - Wednesday 14/08/13

The News Letter, now in its fourth century of continuous publication, has come a long way since it first saw the light of day in 1737. On a visit to Northern Ireland, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth described the longevity of the newspaper as "an achievement in which the people of Northern Ireland can take great pride". Pigeon News is featured in the Farming Life supplement each Wednesday.

Farming Life - Wednesday 14/08/13

Post by willie reynolds »

For the 4th race of the young bird season the NIPA birds were in Roscrea, it was the second mass release and some 24,500 birds were competing. Pride of place goes to the top Lurgan loft of D & B Lyness who timed the same bird as the week previous to win 1st Club, 1st Sect E & 1st Open NIPA 917/24,557 doing velocity 1761. Last week in the race from Tullamore this same bird had 1st Club, 3rd Sect E & 87th Open NIPA 814/21,283 doing velocity 1989. The Secretary reported almost 100% of Result Returns on Saturday evening, now we just need to get something similar for race reports and photos.
