East Antrim lofts enjoyed the weekend race from Roscrea the fourth event of the young bird season, liberation was at 9.00am in a helping SSW wind. The early arrivals were timed in Ligoniel by Bingham & Seaton who scored a fantastic 1st & 2nd Sect C and 15th & 17th Open NIPA 917/24,557. Next best was the big Larne & District over 1,000 birds competing yet again, Chairman Noel Ferguson decimal point ahead of last week’s 1st Open NIPA winners Beggs & Hall, both lofts doing velocity 1719. D & J Armstrong & Son had the best bird in Carrickfergus, 1st Carrick Social on velocity 1710. It was another close finish with club Chairman Noel Ferguson coming out on top winning The Dempsey Cup with his young hen a daughter of last season’s Clonmel winner which is off good friend A Cooke paired to a G Hilson of England cock.
