Cullybackey HPS: The third club show took place with 7 members penning 50 birds in the young pair and 58 in old pair. The judges were Albert Young and Chris Moore from Ahohgill. Gibson & Dickey won the Old Pairs and J & J Greer had the Red Card in the Young Pairs and BIS. Young Pairs T/W (50 Birds) – 1st & 4th J & J Greer, 2nd & Reserve Gibson & Dickey, 3rd Russell Bros, VHC N & S Anderson, HC B Herbison, Commenced Reid Bros & McCloy. Old Pairs T/W (58 Birds) – 1st & Commended Gibson & Dickey, 2nd & Reserve Reid Bros & McCloy, 3rd J & J Greer, 4th & HC Blair & Rankin, VHC Russell Bros. Saturday - Young cocks and Hens handled.

Cullybackey HPS: The second show attracted a good entry of 125 birds in two classes judged by Ballymena & Dist Fanciers M/M M Sempey. Russell Bros won the Old Cock T/W while Brian Herbison took the Red Card and BIS in the Old Hens T/W. Old Cocks T/W (64 Birds) – 1st Russell Bros, 2nd Gibson & Dickey, 3rd & Reserve Reid Bros & McCloy, 4th E Davidson, VHC B Herbison, Commended D & R Turkington. Old Hens T/W (61 Birds) – 1st, 2nd, VHC & HC B Herbison, 3rd & Commended Russell Bros, 4th N & S Anderson, Reserve & Commended Russell Bros.

Cullybackey HPS: The first show took place last Saturday night and 5 members penned 50 birds, 25 per class. Unfortunately a few members got caught in traffic coming from Dublin Show and could not attend. Judge was Allen McBride from Harryville and the Red Card winners were Gibson & Dickey in Young Hens T/W and Russell Bros in the Young Cocks T/W, this bird also Best in Show. Young Cocks t/w – 1st, 2nd, & Reserve Russell Bros, 3rd Blair & Rankin, 4th & Commended J & J Greer, VHC N & S Anderson, HC Gibson & Dickey. Young Hens t/w – 1st Gibson & Dickey 2nd, 4th, Reserve & HC Russell Bros, 3rd & VHC Blair & Rankin, Commended J & J Greer. Saturday – Old Cock & Old Hen t/w.

Open Show will be held in the local Cullybackey HPS Clubrooms at Fenaghy Road on Saturday 21st December the usual 3 in 1 event. The show series will continue on a Saturday evening starting with Young Hens Through Wires on Sat 2nd November. Nov 9th Young Cocks T/W, Nov 16th Old Pairs & Young Pairs, Nov 23rd YC & YH Handled, Nov 30th Fancy T/W & OC Handled, Dec 7th OC Handled & Late Bred Handled, Dec 14th OB & YB Eyesign. Visitors will be made very welcome, good craic on a Saturday night.

Cullybackey HPS: Judges for the old birds handled on Saturday evening were Billy Smyth and George Eagleson from Ballymena & Dist, for the second week on the trot Russell Bros take the Best in Show. J & J Greer had the Red Card in the Late Breds. Results: Old Cocks Handled – 1st, 2nd, 3rd & VHC Russell Bros, 4th Gibson & Dickey, Reserve J & J Greer, HC Blair & Rankin, Commended N & S Anderson. Late Breds – 1st, 3rd, Reserve & HC J & J Greer, 2nd, 4th, VHC & Commended N & S Anderson. Martin & Liam O’Neill from Larne & District placed the cards in the young bird classes judged in the hand, Russell Bros won 9 cards, two Red Cards and Best in Show. Results: Young Cocks Handled (40 Birds) – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and VHC Russell Bros, Reserve, HC & Commended Gibson & Dickey. Young Hens Handled (36 Birds) – 1st, 2nd, 4th & VHC Russell Bros, 3rg & Commended Gibson & Dickey, Reserve N & S Anderson, HC J & J Greer. The annual Open Show will take place on Saturday 21st December more on this later.

Cullybackey HPS: The penultimate classes of the show series were Old Hens Handled and Fancy, Blair & Rankin took the Red Card in the Old Hens and Best in Show. Old Hens Handled – 1st & 4th Blair & Rankin, 2nd & Commended Russell Bros, 3rd J & J Greer, Reserve N & S Anderson, VHC & HC B Herbison. Fancy – 1st B Herbison, 2nd T McFall, 3rd Blair & Rankin, 4th Russell Bros, Reserve & Commended J & J Greer, VHC & HC N & S Anderson. The final show in the Winter Series was for Eye-sign judged on this occasion by the Randalstown duo of Roy and Cathy Magill, former National winners and INFC National Champions. Two lofts shared the majority of the cards but it was J & J Greer who took the Red Card in the Old Birds and Best in Show. Old Birds – 1st J & J Greer, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, VHC & HC Russell Bros, Reserve & Commended D & R Turkington. Young Birds – 1st, 2nd, 3rd & VHC Russell Bros, 4th, Reserve, HC & Commended D & R Turkington.
