The Ulster Federation were in Thurles for their 3rd race of the season . The birds were liberated on Saturday 3rd May 2014 at 12.30 into a southerly wind . Top bird this week belongs to the partnership of Calderwood & Waite who fly in the Shankill HPS . The partnership is made up of Geordie Calderwood & Billy Waite and their enthusiasm for the sport is top drawer and they were over the moon when they heard that they were the leading contenders for 1st Open Thurles . Their latest Fed topper is a four year old blue cock , a previous winner of 1st Club Portland 4th Open Ulster Fed , only last season , plus numerous prizes on the channel . Breeding - Sire is a direct louella busschaert and is a g/son of champions Dixie Dean & Adam . Dam is a gift bird from good friends Bennett & Wilkinson and contains the very best of Wall , Lunt & Green bloodlines . Congratulations to the partnership on your latest Ulster Fed win .
