The opening race of the old bird cross channel season was flown from Talbenny in South Wales with the birds released at 7.20am in a Lt Southerly wind. The top winners were in the Coleraine Premier, Hanson & Harpur topped the NIPA for the second successive race followed on this occasion by D Coyles & Son.

Awards for best in each NIPA Section, and Trophy for Best Overall Velocity. The OB Mileage Awards are as usual 0-250 Miles, 251-400 Miles and Over 400 Miles.
