New Bude race delayed -

Due to a poor weather forecast race marking for Bude was delayed until Saturday which caused a bit of confusion for the local clubs with birds returning from the Yearling Nat Rosscarbery at the same time. Birds were released on Monday 15 th June at 9.00am in a south east wind at a new site in Bude. Early birds as usual made good time with Stewart Bros of Randalstown having two arrivals close together to collect 1 st & 2 nd in MAC and 2 nd & 3 rd Sect B. The winner recording velocity 1523 finished 21 st Open NIPA with just short of 6,000 birds competing. Other winners well placed included Harold Cubitt 1 st Rasharkin & Dist (1499), George Connolly best in Ballymena (1498), Jack Millar & Son 1 st Kells & Dist (1496), Mr & Mrs Robinson 1 st Ahoghill (1493), and Tom Picken 1 st Cullybackey (1484). Many thanks to Harryville who assisted one Ballymena member who failed to get the text message regarding the change of race marking.

The Champions League had the Semi-Final race from Bude, Johnny Simpson (Broughshane) 1437 v Stewart Bros (Randalstown (1523) and Danny Dixon (Rasharkin & Dist) 1488 v Alan Darragh (Cullybackey) 1475. The Final will be flown this weekend from Penzance, Stewart Bros v Danny Dixon. Good luck to both lofts and thanks again to James Harris for looking after the season’s competition.

Coyles team best in New Bude -

Danny Coyles & Son who have raced well all season were best in Coleraine from New Bude, followed by W & W Murdock 1 st Windsor Social (1526). John Connolly was 1 st Ballymoney (1502), Harold Cubitt 1 st Rasharkin & Dist (1499) and Andy Boyle 1 st Dervock (1474). The race was flown on Monday 15 th June having been delayed due to the weather.
