Committee Meeting Report - 08/12/15

The Irish South Road Federation (ISRF) was formed in 1968 and currently has approximately 800 racing members/partnerships in over thirty clubs. The federation covers an area from Wicklow to Monaghan, with the majority of the members located in the Dublin region The weekly races have approx 8,000 to 14,000 birds competing in the inland races, and 2000 to 4000 approx birds competing in the six channel races. Depending on where the birds cross, they will fly between 60 and 100 miles approximately from England (the Irish Channel) and over 600 miles from France (St Malo) to Dublin. The ISRF has four 40 foot transporters with a carrying capacity of nearly 17,000 birds at 20 birds per crate. For all the latest News and Results on the Federation click here.

ISRF Committee meeting 8-12-15

Members present H Byrne, ,W Butler, M Roche ,G Daly, V Flood, E Curdale.
1) Minutes of the previous meeting were read and passed
2) Crates not collected
East Wall ,Dodder Valley ,N Kildare ,Cabra Finglas
3) Rule 68
Possible texting Top 6 for preliminary for open results
4) A issue of empty crates and spaces being sent on transporter on weekly races was discussed
5) The mixing of pigeons on the transporters was discussed
6) Making stations and clock stations for opens races was discussed,
7) Air condition unit put in transporters was discussed .
Air vents might be changed to cattle extractor electric fans
8) It was pointed out that some clubs only use and want steel crates.
9) The motions proposed by the clubs for the ISRF AGM was discussed
10) The rockets have to used 15minutes before liberation at race points.
11) The race program for 2016 was discussed and a proposed race program was put together for the secretaries meeting on in the following week.
12) The cost of channel races was discussed
It was pointed out that the ISRF sent extra conveyors on the channel
13) The profit /loss account regarding the open races was discussed It was pointed out thtsome open races lost money and others made money.
It was suggested the cost per bird should go up from 5 euro to 7 euro for France, and from 2.0 euro to 2.50 euro for the rest of the channel races
14) Weekly fed prize money to increase to 100 euro.
15) A discussion took place regarding the compiling of results.
It was pointed out that some weekly results which were sent in by some clubs was not correct (eg spelling errors,wrong loft no,typo errors regarding rings etc)and this had a negative effect on the compiling of the yearly league tables . It was agreed that steps will have to be taken if possible to reduce typing errors etc from being e mailed to the ISRF secretary.
RULE 73 TO BE CHANGED TO …THAT LONG RANGE WEATHER FORECAST BE USED BEFORE RACE MARKING. DECISION TO BE MADE FRIDAY AT 1 O CLOCK (PM) IF RACE MARKING IS TO BE CHANGED.
MOTION FROM ISRF COMMITTEE
THAT THE POINTS PER FEDERATION RACES BE INCREASED FROM 100 TO 250 POINTS.IN RACES WITH 2000 BIRDS. OR MORE

THE FEDERATION WILL UPHOLD ALL DOMESTIC CLUB RULES REGARDING THE SETTING AND CHECKING TIMES FOR CLOCKS PROVIDING THE RULES DO NOT CONTRAVENE FEDERATION OR IHU RULES.
MOTION FROM ISRF COMMITTEE
RULE 58 TO BE CHANGED TO THAT THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF BIRDS PER CRATE BE AS FOLLOWS, INLAND FEDERATION 20 OLD BIRDS, 22 YOUNG BIRDS, OPEN RACES 18 BIRDS, CHANNEL RACES 16 BIRDS FRANCE. RACES 14 BIRDS.
MOTION FROM ISRF COMMITTEE
RULE 68 TO BE CHANGED TO ALL CLUBS IN OPEN RACES TO TEXT ISRF SECRETARY WITH TOP 6 VELOCITYS WITHIN ONE HOUR OF CLUB RESULT BEING DONE,ALLOWING A PROVISIONAL ISRF RESULT TO BE PUBLISHED ON THE DAY OF THE RACE.
