Post by willie reynolds »

Summary of ISRF AGM 2015
1) Minutes of the previous 2014 AGM meeting were read and passed
A copy of the rules passed in 2014 AGM were given to the members present and passed.
The ISRF gave out over 30,000 euro in prize money this in the 10 open races .
The chairman
O B racing last year 2015 was a good year but Y B session had heavy losses?
There is a Detailed balance sheet account and a Breakdown of open races.
The chairman thanked the treasures for all his efforts in getting the balance sheet completed for the AGM.
He also thanked the transporter managers
The chairman made comments regarding the results and in his option there was room for improvement. He also felt that there should be no problem in the further.

Secretary’s report
The Secretary thank the ISRF committee, the treasurer the chairman and the club secretaries for their help, over the year. He also thank the conveyors & liberator of the pigeons for the excellent job they did for you and ISRF this year. The new system of recruiting the conveyors seemed to be working well so far.
For those who were not at the last AGM there was some disagreement and unrest among the members at last year’s AGM so my first priority and objective of the ISRF committees also this year was to not to give rise to any unnecessary disagreements between the clubs and the federation. I hope we have gone some way on in achieving that this year.
It was agreed by the ISRF committee at the start of the year that as much information should be given to the ISRF members as possible through the year. The existing ISRF web site was taken down off the web at the start of the year so a new official ISRF web site was set up on the web.
The new web site has the race program and calendar, rules, weekly federation results, up dated every week, membership, contacts, weather , about the ISRF. Also for the first time the minutes of the last ISRF committee meeting was but on the web site. Info on the ISRF web site is on IHU and ring lists. Videos of the liberation sites were put on the web site also. A contact e mail is on the web info@isrf.ie and phone number of the committee is on the web site also. A system of texting the full members every week was introduce for the first time this years on a trial bases. As far as I know most fanciers were happy with the texts. The top 3 birds in the fed opens was text on the day and a provisional result of the open races was compiled. A hard copy of the weekly fed results was giver out at the transporters each week.
A new system of dealing with the open races was agreed with the committee and as a result the open races were completed with pools at the end of each week for the first time and a hard copy was also given out at the transporters.
The federation committee introduced a new race point castle town with in a distance of approx 150 miles with good reports so fare. I also did the measurements with the aid of the Pigeonlink program for Tramore and the new race point Castletown for all the fed members and also for the other race points for the new members in the fed this year. The committee meetings were kept to minimum 6 committee meetings this year concerning the general operations of the fed.
The Treasure has given a breakdown of the open races this year. As fare as i know everything that was needed to be done was done by me as secretary.
It is hard to believe that the year is over and I wish to the ISRF and its members the best in the coming year.
Sec 2105 M Roche

Treasurer report
He Thanked the auditors and the club secretary.
I S Federation held its own this year but we dropped 25 members. The drug testing was our biggest expense. He thanked the ISRF committee and clubs for the year.
Transport managers , S Reid . Report.
Lack of communication from the committee regarding the transporter times needed improvement. He found it hard to recall how many crate each club got .
Jimmy Roberts Report.
He felt there was no problems generally . There was disagreements regarding water the birds for the short races.

Liberators report.
O B season very good he felt.
Y B was a pit hairy at the start of the season but was a good season for racing over all.
For him to continue as Liberator a change on rule 73 need to be changed if the members want him to continue as liberator. The liberator made it clear the behaviour of some members last year 2014 AGM was a disgraceful he felt
The committee and liberator needs the support of the members after been elected at the AGM. The chairman said he will never put up with abuse ever again. He does not mind constructive criticism if he did something wrong.
AUDITORS
One of the auditors Paul Fagan left his apologies as he could not attend the AGM.
E Fitzgerald the second Auditor was asked to speak on the balance sheet.
EF said the ISRF has over 50,000 in the bank it was down on last year due to 2 main things on the balance sheet drug testing over 8000. There was 37 drug test on behalf of the ISRF this year 10 from the north may be 1000 euro.
We have a enough drug testing kits for 2016 but we may need to change the system of testing the birds each week to make it more economical. Up north there is a positive test again he said. People are being caught but there might be a cheaper way of doing the testing. Up the north they check the one bird from the top 10 in the federation. Between the drug test and crates made and kits it came to 10,000 approx. Catching one person sends a message to everyone else that is in the ISRF to take drug testing serious. The other expenditure was repairing the steel crates over 7000. Timber crates were a better option as they are easily repaired. Crate are being damaged by the transporter hen it is travelling and fanciers standing on them. Air condition is used in other transporters in the north and steel crates. Our transporters have no air condition so we should go for wood he felt. Feeding was taken off the balance sheet as it was given to different fanciers for letting the transporters into the different sites
Few things went up insurance , reparse on trucks was done in 2014 and big job on the roof of the trucks. We made over 6000 profit for the open races. 3900 profit on the weekly races transporter costs went up a bit. No problems there with the income from the open race and the weekly races. Membership down by 28. E F felt if the expenditure is kept low in 2016 the balance in the bank should be back to 60,000 euro. He also thanked Willie the treasurer for having everything done to perfection and agreed with the secretary M Roche that the treasurer is one of the most important positions in the ISRF. The chairman pointed out there was some losses and gains on the open races and the committee will have to look at that as the federation can’t lose money.
The chairman asked if there was any questions on the balance sheet.
