Summary of ISRF Committee Meeting 11-02-16

The Irish South Road Federation (ISRF) was formed in 1968 and currently has approximately 800 racing members/partnerships in over thirty clubs. The federation covers an area from Wicklow to Monaghan, with the majority of the members located in the Dublin region The weekly races have approx 8,000 to 14,000 birds competing in the inland races, and 2000 to 4000 approx birds competing in the six channel races. Depending on where the birds cross, they will fly between 60 and 100 miles approximately from England (the Irish Channel) and over 600 miles from France (St Malo) to Dublin. The ISRF has four 40 foot transporters with a carrying capacity of nearly 17,000 birds at 20 birds per crate. For all the latest News and Results on the Federation click here.

Summery of ISEF committee meeting on 11-2-16.
Members G Daly, H Byrne ,W Butler ,M Roche ,L Darling ,V Flood ,J Roberts ,S Reid ,

Agenda
1) Transporters’
Crates on transporters, Cabra crates, East wall crates ?
Cabra club to get crates in N Side club if they want them.
N.S. to get corrugate paper and sawdust.

2)Hauler, Fans in trucks,
Fenton Tailors cork.
New wiring, new batteries, new fans, rechargeable system for the batteries, Doe,
Heaters in living quarters, maybe tubbier heaters,
One truck will be done first and inspected in Dublin by the ISRF committee.
The platforms and the wire door was discussed and it was agreed that light weight hops a new steel wire door needs to be made.

3)Interviews For Conveyers.
Conveyers. It was agreed that the existing conveyers do not need to be interviewed again for 2016 but they will also be asked if they are interested in going forward for the coming year. New applicants will be interviewed last date for applications 28/2/16.
It was agreed that the conveyors should clean the trucks before each race each week.

4) 250 points.
A discussion took place regarding the 250 points.
It was agreed that all first fed positions will have 250 points but if there is over 2000 birds in any fed race there will be points given to the first 250 positions.

5) Barleycove
A discussion took place regarding Barleycove. Skull was mentioned as a alternative
It was agreed that a chief conveyer and a few committee visit the lib site to check it out .

6) Birds in Crates
RPRA max area per bird in crates was discussed.
The calculation was worked out based on the size of the isrf crates as follows it was suggested to drop the birds in the crates to 10 or 12 for France.
RPRA rule, One night 22, two night 18, three nights 16 birds in a crate.
Fed rule complies with the RPRA rule fed rule 16 birds on channel races and 14 birds to France. It was agreed to reduce the number of birds in the crates on the channel if possible.

7) Open races
The cost of running the open races was discussed.
Any organisation coming with the ISRF to the channel races will be charged the same as the members of the ISRF.
The cost per bird channel races 2-50 per bird, France 8 euro.

8) D Iveagh.
Darren concerns was discussed by the ISRF committee and it was agreed to send a letter to Darren outlining the ISRF committee position.
The committee agreed the following.
1) The ISRF is a federation of clubs.
2) All communication from any individual should come through their club secretary in writing.

9) Trophies
The cost of 4000 Euro approx for trophies for the races was discussed.

10) Clubs with small memberships
The clubs with less than 16 members was discussed.
It was suggested that the small clubs should go together for the open races.
It was agreed to wait till the membership forms come in.

11) Transports Tenders
It was agreed for this year 2016 to stay with the existing haulier.
