Good morning, latest news with reference the planned race this weekend from Fermoy is, that the NIPA are going to do everything in their par to facilitate a race. This will require a good bit of help from the membership and more importantly the Derry Fanciers. The problem that the NIPA have is that five lorries went to Talbenny last night, now this is the most amount of pigeons ever to go to Talbenny since Fred has been Secretary, it is an unusual year and many fanciers are still sitting with many pigeons in their lofts even after all the racing to date. Now with Five Lorries used for Talbenny that leaves the NIPA with two, for a Race to happen from Fermoy, the NIPA would appeal first to the Derry fanciers to bring their pigeons to Coleraine, this is to try and cut out some of the logistics involved reference time, also more importantly it is requested that every crate going to Fermoy have 22 pigeons, now as Fred says years gone by the same crates held 25 cocks and 27 hens, it is not ideal but to try and facilitate a race the NIPA based upon the numbers they are expecting will require 22 pigeons placed in each crate. In regards to a liberation, going by what the weather reports say for tomorrow, a release anywhere looks unlikely, that is not to say that this won't change as this has happened more times than I care to remember.
The NIPA would like to thank all the members for their help and support to date and as quoted above this is a very unusual year with regards racing and to try and facilitate the races that the members are asking for, will require the help and support of the membership.
