Last Monday morning at 7.30am in a Lt North Easterly wind the mighty NIPA following a two day hold-over following heavy rain on Saturday and Rough Seas on Sunday finally got their record entry liberated in Talbenny, South Wales, the organisation again for the second week was also transporting the entries for both the Ulster Federation and the East Coast Federation. An excellent race was enjoyed by all organisations and it turned out a type of race that the fancy have been long waiting with a very large amount of the racing to date taking place in helping wind conditions.

Sydenham HPS - 1st J & J Scates 1061.260, R & S Scates 1040.147, 3rd J & J Scates 1019.422, 4th J & J Scates 977.385, 5th R & S Scates 959.231. The J & J Scates team make it win number four to date this season with success from Talbenny with the Ulster Federation it was a Scates day all round with the family name taking the first five in the Club result.

The G & P ODowd team had a flyer from Talbenny in south Wales topping the might East Coast Federation for the first time this season by some 48 yards with close to 2,000 pigeons competing, an excellent win with the bird obviously in demand to get home and winning by such a commanding lead.

Roscrea RPC 6/23 1st Joey Donovan 1454, 2nd John Donovan 1368, 3rd Joey Donovan 1270, 4th A & T ORiordan 1213. Well done to Joey who records his Hat-trick of wins for the year to date, the Munster Fed fly a very difficult route and very well done to all the fanciers who timed.

St Annes Invitation RPC 5/23 1st Purdy Loughnane, 2nd Purdy Loughnane, 3rd Purdy Loughnae, 4th Purdy Loughnane. Very well done to Purdy who takes the first four in the Club from a very fast race with the wind blowing a North Easterly strong at times Purdy had four arrivals home in four hours, good shooting.

On a near perfect day the INFC enjoyed a super Yearling National from Sennen Cove on Thursday June 11, liberation had been delayed for one day due to a band of rain around Wexford and heavy rain in Wales. The entry was a little down on the previous year, 786 members sent 4,134 birds competing for pools and prizes of £33,300.

The convoy was released in Sennen Cove at 8.00am in a Lt West wind which was to be NW on the channel crossing and straight North in Ireland. Small batches of birds were reported coming into Wexford and early arrivals were timed in the Dublin area. Details are provisional and subject to correction.
