Talbenny (2) Results - Monday 8th June

Last Monday morning at 7.30am in a Lt North Easterly wind the mighty NIPA following a two day hold-over following heavy rain on Saturday and Rough Seas on Sunday finally got their record entry liberated in Talbenny, South Wales, the organisation again for the second week was also transporting the entries for both the Ulster Federation and the East Coast Federation. An excellent race was enjoyed by all organisations and it turned out a type of race that the fancy have been long waiting with a very large amount of the racing to date taking place in helping wind conditions.

Ulster Federation Talbenny (2) Club Results

Fortfield HPS - 1st B McKeown & Sons 1220.495, 2nd K Doherty 1195.495, 3rd P Carson 1174.915, 4th B McKeown & Sons 1172.329, 5th T & T Russell 1154.374, 6th S Rice & Sons 1125.028, 7th K Doherty 1118.472, 8th P Martin & Tabb 1115.123, 9th Healy Bros 1115.024, 10th G Hardy & Davidson 1110.791. What a flyer for Bennie McKeown into the Fortfield Club this success gives Bennie the honour of being the only member to date in the Fortfield Club in 2009 to win two first Clubs.

Grosvenor HPS 29/402 - 1st T Cooke 1218, 2nd P Farrelly & Son 1203, 3rd P & K McCarthy 1201, 4th A & A Ferran 1200, 5th A & A Ferran 1199, 6th P O'Neill & Son 1190, 7th P O'Neill & son 1190, 8th O Farrelly 1189, 9th O Farrelly 1188, 10th G McGowan & son 1181. Excellent win this week for Big Cooke with wee Peter still knocking hard on the door in runner-up spot, Paul and Kathleen take 3rd spot ahead of Big Tony who times a couple of arrivals together to finish 4th and 5th, Paddy O’Neill and son also enjoy a dual finish with 6th and 7th Club with the Big O Farrelly matching the previous fanciers performance stride for stride also timing two to finish 8th and 9th Club and the McGowan loft completes the top ten.

Wheatfield HPS 9/111 - 1st K O Sullivan & Son 1209, 2nd J & D Braniff 1197, 3rd J & D Braniff 1196, 4th J & D Braniff 1165, 5th J & D Braniff 1163, 6th J & D Braniff 1163, 7th J & D Braniff 1158, 8th McClory Bros & Lowe 1157. Well done to Kieran O’Sullivan and son who break their novice status from Talbenny following a 2 day holdover, all your fellow club mates send their congratulations, the J & D Braniff team have a field day with the result after that finishing 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th with the partnership of McClory Bros & Lowe completing the top eight in the Club.

Alexandra HPS 10/90 - 1st T Lyttle 1206.72, 2nd Hamilton & Davidson 1162.79, 3rd D McGuinness & Son 1145.85, 4th T Lyttle 1139.21, 5th D McGuinness & Son 1138.37, 6th R McCrystal & Son 1120.34, 7th R McCrystal & Son 1112.61, 8th J McErlean & Son 1109.91. Someone new at the top of the leader board this week, the Lyttle loft records its first success of 2009 ahead of the in form Hamilton and Davidson team who are never to far away.

Britannia HPS - 1st T Curran & Son 1186, 2nd T Curran & Son 1160, 3rd M Kelly & Sons 1156.64, 4th J & B Smyth 1156.63, 5th T. Curran & Son 1143, 6th P Reid & Son 1142. The Curran boys complete their fourth win of the 2009 season to date from Talbenny in south Wales taking also the runner-up spot for good measure, the Kelly loft finish in third place having topped the Club from Talbenny last week.

East End HPS - 1st F Mudd & Sons 1108, 2nd H & D.J. Bell & Sons 1097 3rd F Mudd & Sons 1088, 4th W Willis 1086, 5th F Mudd & Sons 1018, 6th W Willis 1002, 7th F Mudd & Sons 1000, 8th F Mudd & Sons 965, 9th F Mudd & Sons 964, 10th T Brown 917. Frankie mudd is proven the man to get in front of this year yet again in the East End this now his fourth success of 2009 with a very impressive card from Talbenny. The H & D J Bell & Sons team lift the Pools and Nom, with the Willis loft in fourth spot lifting the 2 Bird Pool.

Shankill & Dist HPS 17/273 - 1st G & L Simpson 1198, 2nd J Wallace & son 1189, 3rd J Gibson & son & Tosh 1182, 4th Smyth & Townsley 1163, 5th W Gilmore 1157 6th Calderwood & Waite 1148 7th D Balloch 1147, 8th J O'Boyle 1133, 9th McAuley & Kell & Bowles 1131, 10th Brown & Anderson 1125. Nice to see the consistent G & L Simpson team finally get to the winning line ahead of the Wallace men this week who are also seeking their first success of 2009.

East End HPS - 1st J Rainey & son 1087.169, 2nd R & S Scates 1040.147, 3rd J Rainey & son 978.048, 4th R & S Scates 959.231, 5th J Rainey & son 922.274, 6th J Rainey & son 914.213, 7th W Mossgrove & sons 904.234. The Rainey loft comes out in front this week from Talbenny in front of the Scates boys who finish 2nd and 4th Club with the Rainey boys taking third place to complete the top four.

Sydenham HPS - 1st J & J Scates 1061.260, R & S Scates 1040.147, 3rd J & J Scates 1019.422, 4th J & J Scates 977.385, 5th R & S Scates 959.231. The J & J Scates team make it win number four to date this season with success from Talbenny with the Ulster Federation it was a Scates day all round with the family name taking the first five in the Club result.
