Grand National Penzance Young Bird Race Liberation Sunday 9th September 2018.

251 members have entered 1326 pigeons and are competing for £14,587 in pools and prize money.

The pigeons have been released in Penzance this morning at 07.45am the wind at the release site was light south westerly. Our next update will be this evening.

The NIPA have released in Talbenny at 9.35am in a west wind and your birds have cleared in the direction of Fishguard.

The NIPA have released in Roscrea at 9.45am in a west wind.

EDC Young Bird Derbies - A decision is expected soon on Liberations from Skibbereen and Talbenny. Next update will be around 09.45am.
The East Down Combine Have Liberated in Skibbereen at 09.30am in a West South West Wind, The Talbenny birds have been Liberated at 09.35am in a West Wind.

ISRF 6000 PIGEONS LIBERATED IN MALLOW AT 11 O CLOCK IN A WEST WIND.

East Coast Fed - Talbenny lib 9.35am - Birds out in Fermoy in brisk SW wind at 10.30am.

North Coast Classic - 177 youngsters are on their way to the final. The loading and assignment process was overseen by Reggie Thompson, Cyril Beattie, Megan Tobijanski, Tony Tobijanski. The birds were caught by Paul O’Connor and Matt Kelly. Sean and Terence McCrudden examined every pigeon and Willie was present to watch over everything. Donny Dysart is convoying the pigeons this year again. Good luck to all competing and hoping for a successful race. Hoping for 9.00am lib.

NIPA Talbenny Update - The birds are on site in Talbenny they have been fed and watered the water will remain on with the birds till release time , the website will be updated tomorrow when further information is known.

Friday 07/09/18

North Coast Classic (Coleraine) Final Race will be on Sunday.

EDC birds will be basketed this evening for a possible liberation in Talbenny on Sunday. Weather reports in the channel are good visibility winds forecast are strong s/w/w

The NIPA will race mark today Friday for a possible release in Talbenny in Sunday the forecast is giving a strong west south west wind and a clear channel. Race marking will take place for Roscrea on Saturday for a possible release on Sunday please refer to your collection times for both races on an earlier post.

The NIPA race comnittee have decided to defer any decision on race marking untill 11.00am on Friday morning 7th September we will update the website around 11.00am.

EDC Weather Committee have decided to delay a decision on hampering for Skibbereen and Talbenny until Friday morning around 11.00am.

ISRF Mallow - No race marking Friday a decision will be made after forecast Friday lunch time !!!!

East Coast Federation: TALBENNY: Race marking Friday for a race on Sunday. Sallynoggin centre marking extended by 1 hour, marking now 6.30 to 9pm. Balbriggan 7 to 9pm.
FERMOY: Race marking Saturday for also a race on Sunday. 3 races Sunday that’s a first

Race marking will not take place on Thursday.

Current weather reports forecast strong north to north easterly winds for Friday and and a low pressure system over Penzance and on the Irish Sea for Saturday. A ridge of high pressure is expected to build for Sunday. Weather reports will be checked tomorrow Thursday and a further update will be issued around 7:00 PM on Thursday evening.
