Cullybackey Open Show – Another great day at the annual Open Show arranged by Cullybackey HPS, a good entry penned for the OB and YB Classes judged Through Wires, Handled and Eye- sign. Visitors had a field day with Alwyn Neill from Lurgan winning Best in Show, Best Opposite Sex and Most Points and W & N Gilbert from Ballymena & District collecting the Red Card in both OB and YB Eye-sign. Alwyn Neill won the other four classes, Old Bird T/W & Handled and the Young Bird T/W & Handled. Old Birds T/W – 1st & 2nd A Neill, 3rd, 4th, Reserve, HC & Commended W & N Gilbert, VHC B Herbison. Old Birds Handled – 1st & Reserve A Neill, 3rd & VHC W & N Gilbert, 4th D Swann, HC F Simpson, Commended G & R Lawrie. Old Bird Eye-sign – 1st & Commended W & N Gilbert, 2nd & HC C Shaw, 3rd & VHC A Neill, 4th & Reserve B Herbison. Young Bird T/W – 1st, 2nd, 4th & Commended A Neill, 3rd W & N Gilbert, Reserve & VHC D Swann, HC R & S Swann. Young Bird Handled – 1st, 2nd & 3rd A Neill, 4tb & HC W & N Gilbert, Reserve D Swann, VHC F Simpson, Commended R & S Swann. Young Bird Eye-sign – 1st, 4th, Reserve, VHC & Commended W & N Gilbert, 2nd McAlonan Bros, 3rd A Neill, HC N & S Anderson. Alan Craig Laurelvale and Darren Thompson Laurelvale judged young birds through the wires and old birds handled, Joey Vage and Darren Aiken from Dromore judged young birds handled and old birds through the wires and Joey Vage judged the young and old birds eye-sign.
Chairman Neil Anderson thanked everyone including the judges who travelled in terrible weather conditions and he congratulated the winners with a special mention for Alwyn Neill and W & N Gilbert.
