NCC Final 2018

Saturday 8th September the assignment and loading process overseen by Reggie Thompson , Cyril Beattie , Megan Tobijanski and Tony Tobijanski started the ball rolling for the North Coast Classic Final 2018 . After this task was completed the birds were placed in the very capable hands of our Convoyer Donny Dysart. Donny then set off on the long journey to Roscarberry 265 miles to the lofts
Donny who had arrived the night before and had rested up then proceeded to water the youngsters and left them to settle down in preparation for liberation. At 9.15 am in a fresh westerly wind Donny cut the strings and the birds took a half turn and headed for home.

At the home end everyone was enjoying the usual barbecue, this year sponsored by Carson Millican

A fast race was anticipated and with the tension mounting the first batch of 15/20 arrived 5 minutes before Sean’s predicted time of 4 1/2 hrs. The birds trapped very quickly with only 20 seconds between the first 15.

First on the clock was CFC (Coleraine Football Club) with a venture youngster bred by one of Ireland’s best fanciers , Danny Dixon . This was the 3rd OLR winner bred by Danny. CFC kindly donated all proceeds from the sale of the winner to Charity. This fine gesture was reciprocated by Sean and Jeanette Taylor (Pigeon Chat)
Second timed was the youngster entered by Hawk Dodgers (Martin Mitchell). Martin had a very successful series of hotspots and was our top pool winner. His whole team performed admirably throughout the whole series.

In third we had a first time entrant Tom Gorman with a youngster bred for him by Bobby Daziel ( Team Ettrick ). Tom had won Bobby’s birds in one of our Bonus Ball draws . He had unfortunately had a bit of bad luck with them and Bobby then made the magnanimous gesture of then giving Tom all his youngsters leaving him none for himself. Tom had another bred by Bobby in 12th position . Bobby is a top OLR competitor having previously won The NCC and the French OLR . Bobby had the first UK and Ireland bird timed in SAMDPR Final 2019 for a brilliant 23rd open position .

Fourth place goes to O’Barrs with another Danny Dixon bred venture . Ryan and his sadly deceased father Liam are past winners of the NCC with a youngster bred by Danny Dixon . Ryan had another youngster in 15th and this bird is in fact our Ace Pigeon award winner . A home bred this time and a well deserved winner .
Trevor Hughes ( Sons of Glyndwr ) held a charity function for Prostate Cancer to which Sean had donated a free entry into the NCC 2018 series . S & B Cooke were the winners ,their entry winning fifth place .

In Sixth we have Sean Og Dreamteam ( Artie O’Hanlon ). Artie had another in 11th place to pick up this years coveted Two Bird Average . These two youngsters were bred by Danny Dixon and Artie had won them in one of our Bonus ball draws .
Andrew McKeown secured seventh position with another Bonus Ball pigeon . This youngster was bred by Kev Parsons ( Hofkens Uk).
Sons of Glyndwr ( Trevor & Val Hughes ) win eighth place with a youngster bred by themselves .

Ninth place goes to Charlie’s Angels ( T & Charlie McCrudden ) . Terence is a very consistent performer and a former Ace Pigeon Award winner in the NCC .
Tenth this year is another past winner of the NCC , Tickers Team ( Les Stukey & Tommy Grattan ) .

Sean would just like to thank you all for your continuous support and hope to see you all again in 2019 . Adrian PO.
