Breeder Buyer Sale - 05/04/19

The East Down Combine was formed in 1967 and caters for pigeons fanciers within the County of Down in Northern Ireland. There are currently 22 clubs with approx 200 members sending a birdage of up to 5,000 pigeons each week. The Combine is currently spilt into 2 Section with a line running North to South creating an East to West Section. The membership currently race for 40 Open positions and 20 Section positions on a weekly basis. The Combine is affiliated to The Irish Homing Union Regulating and Promoting the Sport of Pigeon Racing in Ireland since 1895. 2019 EDC Breeder/Buyer on April 5th

The first event of the new season is the holding of the East Down Combine Breeder/Buyer sale. This Year the date is April 5th , just over a week before the first scheduled race of the new season and the relevant information on this for everyone is ;

Only EDC members can buy birds ,but NIPA and Ulster Fed members can enter birds for sale with a maximum of 2 birds per member.

There will be 4 Prizes ,1st -50% , 2nd 25%, 3rd -15% 4th 10%

50% to breeder & 50% to buyer

To be raced for in the 1st Skibbereen YB Derby

Auction will be held in the Temple Golf & Country Club on Friday 5th April 2019
Auction time 8pm
Auctioneer Doley Croskery

IMPORTANT : 1)The buyer must race the bird to their loft
2) Birds Ring numbers cannot be changed under any circumstances
3) All Breeder/Buyers must be claimed on the Derby Envelopes

So now is the chance to help make this year’s prize money even bigger . Last Year the winners were D Croskery & son racing a bird bred by Cloughey’s Harper & Young with each loft winning £753 .2nd was also the lofts of D Croskery & son who were also the breeders winning them a total here of £752 for this 2nd place . The Dundonald partnership of J Young & ptnrs were 3rd being both the racers and breeders winning £452.and 4th were B C T Foulis & Gill also of Dundonald with a bird bred by B Hogg & Sons each winning £150 .
