Race Programme 2019 -

Post by willie reynolds »

The committee of the IHU NFC met in the clubhouse hotel Kilkenny on Saturday 9th of March to set the race programme for the forthcoming season, with proceedings getting underway at 1pm. The season starts off on 11th May from Valentia Island,
St Cleres on 22nd May, Valentia Island on June 8th, Wadebridge on June 19th, and St Malo on June 28th.

For the young birds it's Valentia Island on August 10th, Valentia Island on August 24th and Talbenny on August 31st
. Two of the old bird channel races, which are scheduled to take place midweek, are subject to change, as transport costs could be an issue, in which case, transport with one of the Larger organisations would be more feasible, which would mean racing on Saturday. The young bird programme will be as printed, the Talbenny race will be transported with the NIPA.

Birdage costs Will be e2 for inland racing, e3.50 for the channel races. The Millar Gold Cup, St Malo at cost.
Prize money for this year is guaranteed to be the same as last year, however with more new members expected to join this year, the committee are to re-evaluate the situation before the season kicks off.

A Gold Ring competition will be held from the Talbenny young bird National on August 31st, nominated ring numbers with full payment to the Secretary/treasurer, Richie Mullane,Graball Road, Crosshaven, Co Cork, by June 1st. Rings are e10 each with a maximum 5 rings per member, rings nominated are non transferable. Prizes are Open only, split 50% 30% 20%. Any further information, just ask any committee member in your area.
Alan Knowles had kindly offered to run a bonus ball competition for some nice young birds, to raise funds for the National, please keep an eye out for these and try and support your National as best you can.

Membership fee for the National is e50 and with an 8 race programme, represents good value for money.
Any one looking to join the National can download an application form from the web site www.ihunfc.com or contact the secretary or any committee member in your area, closing date is May 1st.
