The East Down Combine were back in Navan on July 27th for the second young bird race and with a light West wind it was a very similar race to the 1st Navan with the leading velocities being just slightly higher than the first week in the top 1500’s . Liberation took place at 9.30am for the convoy of 4394 birds .

Pride of place this week goes to the Annalong club who have the top three in the Open . The name of the Annalong partnership of John Trimble and son continues to be to the fore again this week with their first two birds taking 1st and 3rd Open 1st and 3rd East section .Jim Newell also Annalong is 2nd & 6th open and 2nd & 6th East section .The top 40 Open places are all in the East section with Gordon bros racing in both Cloughey and Killyleagh Central enjoying another great race starting with 4th and 5th Open and 4th and 5th East section and taking 20 of the 40 open places .Other s in the open result were from Annalong John McCartan and good to see Kevin Rooney ,son & dtr back racing again . From Cloughey both Harper & Young and Cully & Monan are in the Open result .

Leading the West section with 1st and 2nd were Massey Bros of Ballylesson with Dundonald then having the next 8 places the first if which was Brown & McConnell .
