BALLYLESSON PARTNERSHIP 1ST & 2ND OPEN TULLAMORE

The 3rd race of the Young Bird season was from Tullamore and had been scheduled to be flown on Saturday August 3rd but poor flying conditions on the day led to the birds being heldover until 9am on the 4th when the convoy of 4000 + birds were away in a Southerly wind which resulted in velocities in the 1600’s . Pride of place this week goes to the Ballylesson partnership of Colin & Dorothy Smyth & sons who had two together for 1st and 2nd Open on 1667ypm and this is the second time this season that the Smyths have taken 1st Open from Tullamore having won the Open from the 1st Tullamore Old Bird race back in April.

We stay with the Ballylesson club for the next 4 birds with the partnership of Albert Cousins , Geoff McConaghie & John Albert with 3rd ,4th and 6th open with Albert Lockhart at 5th and then its over to Dundonald for the next 14 places shared between 5 lofts and this takes account of the top 20 open places all of which are in the West section ,in fact the West section lofts take all the Open places this week .
The East section is won by the Cloughey partnership of Harper & Young with 1st, 3rd ,4th and 5th section with Bangor’s Lambert & Stewart 2nd Section . The full Open section and nominated results were ;
