The Rooneys win top 12 Open Places from Tullamore

The continuing poor weather saw the 2nd Tullamore race being flown on Sunday the 11th of August with the birds being basketed on the Saturday night 10th August and liberation at 11.15 am on the 11th August into a NW wind making for winning velocities in the mid 1400ypm . The Annalong partnership of Kevin Rooney , son Kristopher and daughter Keeva had an absolutely dream result taking 22 Open positions including the top 12 and Annalong members between them taking the top 25 open places and all the East section places . These other Annalong lofts were Jim Newell 13th open , McLoughlin Bros 16th open , the consistent John Trimble & son 20th open and John McCartan 22nd & 23rd open .

The West section was won by the St Malo winning loft of the Ballynahinch fanciers J Gillespie & Sons whilst Jim’s Brother David racing as Gillespie Bros in the Ballylesson club was 2nd section with John Kirk & sons also Ballylesson 3rd & 4th West Section .

The next race is from Thurles but on either side of this are two midweek comeback races from Tullamore which will allow later young birds some experience . Lets hope the weather settles down to allow these events to take place .
