The NIPA were in Fermoy the week before last with 48 members sending 487 birds. Although weather and wind did not seem favourable the leading birds made good velocities and returns overall were good. Topping the Derry Fed is the Foyle partnership of Liam and Paul Hegarty who definitely have hit a well deserved purple patch taking 1st, 2nd and 15th positions. Another in form loft Cooley Bros take 3rd spot and have other timings taking 17th and 19th. Mr & Mrs Paul Maxwell have 3 birds in the frame taking 4th,12th & 18th positions while Mickey Harkin features yet again in 5th & 16th.

Other positions: 6th - E Quigley; 7th - P & J Masters; 8th & 9th - S Mc Grotty; 10th & 13th - L Flanagan & Son; 11th - J McLaughlin; 14th - M & M Fahy; 20th - Quigley & Dunne.

The Fed also had a mid week race from Cavan last week with 11 members sending 148 birds and the Fed's top flyers Paul and Elaine Maxwell from the Foyle cleaned the boards taking the top nine positions. A great performance from this partnership that have their Young Bird team in top class condition. Leo & Barry Flanagan, Londonderry complete the Top 10.
