On behalf of the members of Winners North and South Ireland and the Irish Social Circle we present the final sales list for the auction, which will take place on Friday 4th of October, 2019, in the Sarsfields Pigeon club Lally Rd, Kilmainham, Dublin, Ireland , first lot going under the hammer at 8.00pm.
This came about in order to recognise the wonderful contributions from Fran Cullen, Dene Simpson, Simon Brick, Gareth Edwards, John Hurley and Gary Jacobs in their efforts to repatriate lost, stray and injured racing pigeons from Ireland that don’t leave Wales and Cornwall. The lads have repatriated hundreds if not thousands of lost birds to their grateful owners, without asking for recompense or renumeration.

We came together to organise a weekend for the lads with an invitation to the INFC presentation evening in the Stormont hotel and then a night out in Dublin for all. I am pleased to say that everyone with exception of Gary is attending and a fantastic weekend is in the offing. Gary will be presented with a suitable gift recognising his stellar work, sadly he cannot attend but will hopefully get to see him in Blackpool.

We have, in my humble opinion assembled one of the finest auction line ups I’ve ever seen, the quality of the lots is first class as you can see. Never has as many National and Kings cup winning lofts been represented in a sale.

We humbly offer our most sincere thanks to the very generous offers of birds and I think it shows the true esteem the Fancy hold our friends Fran, Dene, Simon, Gareth and Gary and the gratitude for which their efforts are held.

There will be no commission on sales so the final bid is what you pay, the organising committee are giving our time and effort entirely free and any surplus monies will equally divided between four nominated charities, each chosen by a member of the committee.

Lot 1. Kicking off as we mean to go on, we start the sale with a bird from the living legend John Patterson of Ballyleeson. The sire of this pigeon has 3x1st inc 5th Open Mallow, 18th Open Skibbereen Classic, 2nd Open Fermoy Classic, and the Dam has 3x1st inc 1st Open Thurles and 1st Open Mallow Classic, outstanding performance bloodlines to get the ball rolling.

Lot 2. Is a young bird from Pat Byrne of Sarsfields, an outstanding fancier with a loft full of top performances.

Lot 3. A young bird from the Kings cup winning Herbie Thorpe of Proudstown pigeon Stud, Proudstown stud has produced countless winners this year alone for fanciers all over the country.

Lot 4. Is the first of our 2020 young birds, a pair from the top class partnership of Bingham and Seaton Ligoneil, Lee and Billy with over a dozen wins this year including first open NIPA. the lads are offering one each off their champions or a pair off one depending how they come in March both cocks are full brothers and prolific racers and now breeders mighty David was voted best yb in Britain and Ireland in the RPRA his full brother the Kettle raced 10 times winning 9 open positions including 3 open skibbereen Nat both cocks are only mated to their top stock hens the purchaser won’t be disappointed.

Lot 43. Here we have another pair of 2020 young birds on offer from the hugely successful Harmony lofts of John and Viv Abernathy, everyone knows the quality housed at Harmony the buyer will not be disappointed.

Lot 47. Here we have the second of Wesley Sawyers very kind donation another fine specimen from this National winning fancier.

Lot 48. Is a wonderful donation from Colin and Dorothy Smyth, the backbone of the EDC, the partnership offer a beautiful Busscheart young bird from one of their top stock pairings, who are responsible for countless winners, this yb was destined for the Smyth stock loft after damaging her keel after a BOP attack.

Lot 49. Here we have the second lot from the National winning loft of Pompelli Plunkett young bird is soaked in French blood from Pompellis Walkinshaw x Jimmy Cullen stock.

Lot 50. Here we have a an absolute diamond from none other than the legendary John Wheatcroft needless to say this is an outstanding bird from Leo Heremans stable, containing the blood of Rossi, Jan, Olympiad and Euro.
I have no doubt this hen could be the foundation of a team for years to come.
