Bude - Sunday 19/07/20

Post by willie reynolds »

Ron Williamson – 1st & 2nd Open NIPA Bude

When he raced in Bondhill Ron Williamson topped the NIPA on many occasions, I would near be sure one of the points with most success was Bude in Cornwall and on Sunday after the race had been delayed for one day due to the weather the Master of Portadown was back to winning ways in Bondhill Social, two birds together took 1st & 2nd Open NIPA on velocity 1119,. Each week the old bird season seems to be getting better for this record breaking loft, in Newry & Dist this year he has topped the NIPA five times in the first six races. Many birds were missing on the day from Bude.

Ron’s daughter Claire kindly arranged a photo for me and some bird detail. The Bude 1st Open winner was a 3 year-old blue cock. Bred as you would expect in the purple and now named “Wizard Ron”. Sire is a bird named “White Nose” that won Bird of the Year in the North South Federation in 2014 and in the same season won the Sect G Meritorious Award in the RRRA (Irish Region). The 2015 season was even better. Bird of the Year again in the North South Federation, Bird of the Year in Sect G, NIPA Bird of the Year, and RPRA Best Bird any distance. Dam was “69 Er” winner of 1st Open Clonmel 9,625 birds. She was bred from “Breakaway” 1st Open with 26,627 birds competing when paired to a daughter of “Millennium Superstar”. This pair have already produced the goods “White Cheeks” that won 1st )pen NIPA Corrin in 2017 with 11.551 birds, is a full sister to “Wizard Ron” the 1st Open NIPA Bude winner.
