Update Penzance and Penzance Classic. Monday 20th July.

Permission has been granted by Cornwall County Council to liberate at Princess May Recreation Grounds.

Weather reports for the weekend of the 25th July forecast poor weather. The race advisors plan to race when conditions are favourable.

We will update this evening ( Monday) when further information will be available.

Monday night update - Weather reports to be monitored on Tuesday evening and the next update will be tomorrow (Tuesday) evening when further information will be available. Is is planned to race when conditions are favourable.


The East Down Combine St Malo OB Derby is now Scheduled for the 31st July.

The 1st Young Bird race is Scheduled for the 25th July. The 2nd Young Bird race is Scheduled for the 1st August but this may need to be changed dependent on the Liberation date of the St Malo OB Derby

NIPA UPDATE: The NIPA will not make any decision on racemarking for Penzance until around 10.30 on Wednesday morning, we will update around 10.30am.

The first 4 races of the young bird programme are: Sat 8th August Area lib Mullingar & Tullamore, Sat 15th August area lib Tullamore & Roscrea, Sat 22nd August Mass lib Roscrea, Sat 29th August Gowran Park.

Irish South Road Federation - Current forecasts are for poor weather conditions in Penzance on Saturday and Sunday, birds will be marked on Wednesday evening for a possible race on Friday. Trucks leaving Northside at 8.00pm - nd Southside at 9.00pm. Clubs to mark birds accordingly Henry Byrne.

Wednesday 22/07/20

The NIPA will race mark today Wednesday for a possible liberation in Penzance on Friday collection times as on previous post. ALL birds for Penzance will be ra cemarked through your centres.

Irish SR Federation - Again due to poor weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday race marking for Skibbereen will take place on Thursday evening normal times for a possible race on Friday. Henry byrne

Clubs are reminded that payment is now due for Talbenny, Bude and Penzance races £12.00 per crate.
St. Malo old bird national could members please inform their club secretary the number of pigeons they are going to enter. This also applies to the Ulster Federation and EDC. Club secretaries then to inform the NIPA headquarters by Sunday at the latest the number of pigeons. This is to assist in planning transport. Thank you. Fred Russell, NIPA Secretary.

The East Down Combine Weather Committee have delayed a decision on Hampering for 1st Navan until Friday Morning.

Friday 24/07/20

Dont forget to send the NIPA Centre Results for NIPA Penzance and St Malo, all recieved will be published. HOMER.

Thw NIPA birds arrived on site late yesterday afternoon, they are all set for liberation. Friday morning update - The NIPA are in Penzance where a liberation does not look likely we will update with any further information later this morning.
NIPA - Due to weather conditions in Penzance and the Irish Sea being forecast as very poor and no chance of a liberation your birds are in the process of being brought back to Ireland we will update the site with further information tonight.

The Penzance Classic entry fee and pools are being refunded in full.

Any club requiring their refund cheque can collect it at the N.I.P.A. office. Cheques not colllected will be sent out on the transporters at a later date.

NIPA Update 21.40hrs - The convoy of pigeons which were due to be released in Penzance this morning (Friday) are now on route to Fermoy
for a possible release on Saturday.

ISRF Dublin - Due to poor weather at BOTH Race points Penzance & Skibbereen a lib is not possible at the moment update at 10.00am.
Birds are moving to Mallow due to bad weather sitting over Skibbereen update at 12.30 - Penzance not good at the moment not good.
Unfortunately the weather is moving faster than our truck we where hoping to outrun the weather but it looks like we won't make it to the race point before it closes in again update for the land race at 2.00pm. Update for Penzance 1.30pm. ISRF have held over in Penzance.
Unfortunately the weather has beat us today birds are held over in Thurles - hopefully we will get a lib tomorrow Saturday Henry Byrne.

The EDC will hamper tonight (Friday) for 1st Navan. An early Liberation is likely on Saturday Morning.

The NIPA have released in Fermoy at 8.00am your birds got high and cleared we are expecting an odd shower en-route.


Todays race from Fermoy is an official ordinary club race and you can return your clocks to your club for checking.There are open and section positions to be won today so send in your results as normal. This race will NOT count towards any awards or averages. If possible could clubs have their results for Fermoy today in to the office by 6 pm or earlier or at least as early as possible thanks.

The EDC have Liberated in Navan at 08:00 in a West Wind.

ISRF will liberate in Thurles at 10.15am - Penzance birds holdover.
