Over the years the members of St.Marys rpc have more than held their own in north road national racing, flying into the west of Ireland into generally prevailing head winds.2020 has been no exception with two of our members Frank Purcell and Jim Purcell (not related ) winning 1st and 2nd national respectively from the blue riband race of the year from Frazerburgh in Scotland. Franks 2 yr old cock was 1st national and Jim was 2nd national ten minutes later with his yearling hen.They have decided to pair these two champions this year,and are most generously donating a young bird from this coupling to the club for auctioning for funds for our club house.If your looking for something special to add to your loft,the parents and grandparents of this bird have flown Scotland 26 times between them,so the blood line is well and truly tested.

The sire is a blue cheq IHU 18 S 035715 bred and raced by Frank Purcell from his Donnelly bros.of Newry lines.This cock was 1st national Frazerburgh 2020.
3rd national Perth 2019.He also flew Mauchaline and Perth in 2020.
The Dam is a dark cheq IHU 19 S 009032 bred and raced by Jim Purcell.
2nd national Frazerburgh 2020.3rd Fed.Perth 2020.10th national Mauchaline 2020.
This hen is bred from Eddie Holdens champion hen which won four 1st nationals and flew Scotland nine times.
The sire of Jim's hen is bred and raced by Mike Slattery and he calls him the "Thurso cock".
This cock is four years old and has flown Scotland ten times,winning 3rd national Mauchaline. 2nd national Thurso. 5th national Perth.
