Ballybrack New clubrooms 2022 -

Post by willie reynolds »

A Big Thank You from the Ballybrack R.P.C.

The Ballybrack R.P.C. held the Official Opening of their New Club Rooms (now known as Ballybrack Racing Pigeon Club and Community Rooms) on Thursday the 18th of August. The event was attended by our Local Independent Councillor Hugh Lewis, Loughlinstown Community Rooms Chairperson Linda Carrol, Loughlinstown Community Rooms Coordinator Stefani Howlett. Plus many of our Family members and friends. The idea of getting our own Club Rooms was first purposed by Club Members Stephen Doyle & Mick Kane at the end of the 2021 Season. So to have had the Club Rooms in-place for the start of the 2022 Season, was a fantastic achievement. Both Men worked tirelessly to make their vision a reality. Everything had to be project managed which involved a lot of meetings with different people, to arrange the allocation of a site, plus insurance. Eventually the Lads managed to secure a prime location on the grounds of our local Community Centre. Even managing to get our own gated entrance. Going forward it is the intention of the Club to work along side the other members of the Community Centre to help promote each other’s hobby’s and interests. The Ballybrack Racing Pigeon Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all the fanciers who Donated Pigeons to our On Line Club Rooms Fund Raiser Auction. And just as importantly we’d like to thank the fanciers who bought the Pigeons. We are fully aware that without your Generosity and Support none of this would have been possible. We’d like to also thank Jamie Kelly who done all the On Line Work for the Auction. Special Praise must also go to Sarah Danials who stepped in as our Club Secretary. Sarah was instrumental in the purchasing of our Portable Cabin from the Wilton Cross H.P.S. And thank you to Pat Davis who helped arrange the transportation. We would also like to thank Independent Councillor Huge Lewis, Community Workers Linda Carroll, Hailey Keirse, Sharon Merrigan, Ann Mooney, Patsy Kelly, Ann Wallace, Mary McHugh and Stefani Howlett for all their hard work to get us to where we are today. A big thanks must go to the Members of the Sallynoggin H.P.S. who gave us full use of their Club for the 2020 & 2021 Seasons. On a personal note, as a new member of the Club l have to say it’s a very enjoyable Club to be a member of. One of the meany good things I’ve noticed about the Club is that even if certain members don’t race, they still attend the Club on Friday Nights to help mark the Birds. And more often than not they are there again when the result is been done, so they can congratulate the eventual race winner. Submitted on behalf of the Ballybrack R.P.C. by Stephen Cunningham.
