New NIPA Press Officer – I would like to inform everyone that I have been newly elected as Press Officer for the NIPA and will be covering Sections C, D, F and G in the NIPA in this forthcoming season 2024. I kindly ask for all the Club Secretaries or race Secretaries within these sections to get in contact with me highlighting their club and contact details for the future publication of results, loft reports and any other information for publication. JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

Another double header with the Fermoy Inland Yearling National and a cross channel race in Bude on the same day for the Mighty N.I.P.A. Up first was a trip across the Irish sea to Bude. The N.I.P.A’s Team of Race Controllers made the decision to delay the race until Sunday as there was unfavourable weather forecasted for the Saturday. Race marking took place on Friday the 9th of June with the birds arriving on site in England on Saturday afternoon well rested and cool. 472 members of the Mighty N.I.P.A. sent 5,452 Birds to Bude. The Birds were liberated in Bude at 8:45 AM on Sunday morning in a Light South Wind.

The Winning Bird from the Bude Race belongs to T. Creighton & Son of Carrick Social H.P.S in Section C. Many Congratulations to T. Creighton & Son on claiming 1st N.I.P.A Open from Bude 5,452 Birds. Bill has named his newly crowned Open Winner as ‘Bills Bess’ Bill only keeps a few birds to race each year and carefully selects his teams each week with quality over quantity proving even more so this week. Bills not open wins the Open, he also win the pools, nom and DTW in his Club Carrick Social. ‘Bills Bess’ was driving his hen when he come. The breeding is of A&N Lewis Supreme Champs Doagh & District. His sire is a super pigeon of Bills called ‘Bills Cock’ GB16C17353. He was hawked badly in his last race in 2018. He has a star studded honours list including. 1st Club Tullamore 129 Miles, 1st Club Gowran Park 155 Miles, 1st Club Skibbereen NAT 262 Miles, 1st Club Fermoy 202 Miles, 5 Bird Fermoy finished 84th Open, 17th Section, 1st Club Rosscarbery Yearling Cock NAT 256 Miles, 5th Open, 4th Section, 314 Members sending 1,553 birds. 1st Club Corrin 209 Miles. And now he has rared 1st Club, 1st Open, 1st Section Bude 276 Miles ‘Bills Bess’ GB18C45156. ‘Bills Cock’ also rared Who dares wins 14th Open in Final winning £800 GB19V17121. Who dares wins 70th Open in Final GB20S40763. Who dares wins 104th in Final GB16C17358. Nice chatting to you on the phone Bill on your success and congratulations once again Bill.

Also, Big Congratulations to J&S Graham Calvin of Kingsmoss H.P.S finishing 2nd Open. Also, Congratulations to Larkin Bros of Meadows H.P.S finishing 3rd Open. Congratulations lads’ great velocity’s from the Channel. It was an open day for the Channel with many getting their fair share on a tough test for the birds, but I must say Bills Bird was well out in front.

SECTION D REPORT
The Winner of Section D (61/770) from Bude was Gordon Kirkpatrick of Harmony H.P.S. Gordon Finishes 1st Club (59 Birds) 1st Section (770 Birds) and 28th Open N.I.P.A. (5,452 Birds) This winner for Gordon was 1 off his own family of pigeons. His family of pigeon started back in the 1960s with birds from Arthur Walkinshaw’s kept as pure as he can with the odd introduction to the family. This has proved successful for Gordon as the stem of the family for channel racing one cock flew France 7 times 6 of those being in the money achieving gold medals and hall of fame award finishing 2nd Section, 9th Open. A grandson of this pigeon even completed this feat also. A great family of birds for Gordon has just added a Section Win from Bude to his impressive family. That’s another Channel race under fanciers’ birds’ wings which will set things up nicely for the upcoming 3 French Races. All that is left to be flown of the N.I.P.As Old Bird Programme is one Final Inland Race in Fermoy with the Penzance & Penzance Classic Races on the same day from the Channel. Then Finishing off with the Old Bird N.I.P.A Channel National from St. Malo in France. Big Thanks again to everybody for their kind regards on my weekly reports, it really means a lot to me and gives me a great boost when talking to so many of you all that look forward to my weekly reports and enjoy the read.
