New NIPA Press Officer – I would like to inform everyone that I have been newly elected as Press Officer for the NIPA and will be covering Sections C, D, F and G in the NIPA in this forthcoming season 2024. I kindly ask for all the Club Secretaries or race Secretaries within these sections to get in contact with me highlighting their club and contact details for the future publication of results, loft reports and any other information for publication. JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

After the finish of the Inland Races, the N.I.P.A look to the cross-channel race of Penzance & the
Penzance Classic Race which is located in the South West Coast of England. With the go-ahead given
Race marking took place on Tuesday the 20 th of June at allocated Centres. 464 members of the
Mighty N.I.P.A. sent 5,019 Birds to the Penzance. 269 Members nominated 1,905 Birds into the
Penzance Classic Race held within the one race. The Birds were liberated on Thursday the 22 nd at 7:15
AM in a Light East Wind.

The Winning Bird from the Penzance Classic Race belongs to G&A Campbell of Armagh H.P.S in
Section E. Many Congratulations to G&A Campbell on claiming 1 st N.I.P.A Classic from Penzance

SECTION C REPORT; PENZANCE CLASSIC
The Winner of Section C (34/290) from Penzance Classic was Higginson & Fasciola of Ballyclare &
District H.P.S. The duo Finish 1 st Club, 1 st Section C (290 Birds) and 5 th Classic N.I.P.A (1,905 Birds).
Their Section Winning Pigeon is a Mealy Hen which was sent to the race on Chipping Eggs. Her
Parents were bred by Ian Stafford of JPS Lofts. Many Congratulations to Section C Winners Higginson
& Fasciola and Big Congratulations to all Club Winners

SECTION D REPORT; PENZANCE CLASSIC
The Winner of Section D (30/282) from Penzance Classic was O&M Monaghan of Colin H.P.S. The
father and son partnership of Owen & Michael Monaghan Finishes 1 st Club (82 Birds) 1 st Section (282
Birds) and 6 th Classic N.I.P.A. (2,183 Birds). The lads won the Double winning the Section from
Penzance & Penzance Classic Section Winning bird was 12th Open, 1st section Penzance and 6th
Classic, 1st Section Penzance Classic. The Winner Is a slatey yearling cock flown on roundabout
system. His sire is from their Mysterio birds from Dave Atkin. Mysterio birds have been brilliant for
them with another Mysterio bird winning 1st club 4th section Bude the previous week. His Dam is a
Van Herk and was gift from Johnny Baxter of Glenarm. The cock had previously won 104th North
section INFC Skibbereen 2021 and 38th section from Talbenny this year. Their other bird in the prizes
was 65th open, 6th section and 254th open 20th section. Many Congratulations to Section D

SECTION F REPORT; PENZANCE CLASSIC
The Winner of Section F (12/72) from Penzance Classic was Dean Grieves of Killyleagh & District
H.P.S. He finishes 1 st Club, 1 st Section F (72 Birds) and 73 rd, Classic N.I.P.A (1,905 Birds). The Section
Winner is a 2-year-old Cheq hen. She was sent sitting on a 7-day old young bird. She has been a
consistent racer in her time racing for Dean. She is a nest sister to last year’s 1sts Club, 1 st Section F,
1 st Open N.I.P.A Yearling National. The Sire and Dam of her is from Micky Betts Doncaster. This pair
are now responsible for 6x1st Club Winners. Dean only races a small team of 32 Birds and has even
bigger results with them winning 5x 1 st Club this Old Bird Season while also sending to 4 E.D.C Races
winning all 4. Many Congratulations to Section F Winners Burgess & Brennan and Big
Congratulations to all Club Winners.

SECTION G REPORT; PENZANCE CLASSIC
The Winner of Section G (33/301) from Penzance Classic was Michael Peters of Ballyholland H.P.S.
Michael finishes 1 st Club, 1 st Section (301 Birds) and 10 th Classic N.I.P.A (1,905 Birds). Michaels Section
Winner is from his successful team of pigeons. Michael does especially well from Penzance every
Season and has gained the reputation of the Penzance Classic Master of Ballyholland Many
Congratulations to M. Peters and Big Congratulations to all Club Winners.

Another Successful week and another successful double header from Penzance. As the Old Bird
Season is ending with just one final race to be flown, the penultimate Old Bird N.I.P.A Channel
National from St. Malo in France. Big Thanks again to everybody for their kind regards on my weekly
reports, it really means a lot to me and gives me a great boost when talking to so many of you all
that look forward to my weekly reports and enjoy the read. It’s been great chatting with fanciers
from all over and hearing your birds’ stories from before and after the race. I would like to thank
everybody for the help in gathering info for myself as it gives me a great help in completing my
reports to my best ability. I would like to kindly ask for all club representatives/race secretaries
