New NIPA Press Officer – I would like to inform everyone that I have been newly elected as Press Officer for the NIPA and will be covering Sections C, D, F and G in the NIPA in this forthcoming season 2024. I kindly ask for all the Club Secretaries or race Secretaries within these sections to get in contact with me highlighting their club and contact details for the future publication of results, loft reports and any other information for publication. JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

After a successful start to the 2023 young bird season, it was time for another repetition of last week’s race from Kilbeggan in Co. Westmeath and same again for Section F in Navan in Co. Meath. The N.I.P.A’s Team of Race Controllers made the decision to bring forward the race to Friday as the weekends forecast was not promising. Race marking therefore took place in clubrooms on Thursday the 28th of July. 414 members of the Mighty N.I.P.A. sent 14,072 Birds to Kilbeggan and 51 Members sent 1,619 Birds to Navan to the second race of the young bird season. The Birds were liberated in Kilbeggan & Navan Liberation sites at 9:30 AM on Friday morning the 29th of July in clear skies and with a Light South Wind.

The Winning Bird from the second youngbird race of the season belongs to B. Morgan of Coalisland & District H.P.S in Section A.
Many Congratulations to Brendan Morgan on claiming 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, & 6th N.I.P.A. Open from Kilbeggan 2 from 14,079 Birds. And Congratulations to 3rd Open Winner J. Smyth & Son of Ahoghill H.P.S in Section B.


SECTION C REPORT
The Winner of Section C (83/2,415) from Kilbeggan 2 was A&T Agnew of Ballyclare & District H.P.S. Finishes 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Club (189 Birds) 1st Section C (1,501 Birds) and 17th Open (14,072 Birds) The Section C Winner is a Blue Cock and was 7th home in the Club last week from the first Kilbeggan race. He was bred from a 2016 Cock from his late father’s loft. Dam is a 2021 hen bred by the Agnew’s. SECTION D REPORT
The Winner of Section D (55/1,764) from Kilbeggan 2 was Johnston Bros of Colin H.P.S. The 2 Brothers Michael & Martin Finishes 1st, 2nd,3rd,4th Club (185 Birds) 1st, 2nd & 4th Section (1,764 Birds) and 38th, 40th & 42nd Open N.I.P.A. (14,072 Birds) Martin is pictured holding 1st Section Winner and Michael is holding 2nd Section Winner. Both of these birds were bred by 2 Brothers, they came from good friend Ant Mc Williams from Wales who unfortunately passed away at a young age, but we still have his birds, and they win in fast and hard races right through to France. The Dam of the Section Winner was a gift from fellow clubmates and super fanciers J. Gregory & Sons. She is bred through their Skibbereen National Winning birds not just the first winners in our lofts from the Gregorys. The Dam of the 2nd Section Winner was a gift from our good friend Alister Mc Lean of Scotland. It’s been lightly bred off and already there starting to show great potential. The brothers are delighted with the result and would like to thank all involved with carrying out a great race. SECTION F REPORT
It was another trip in the N.I.P.A Trailer to Navan for the second youngbird race of the season. The Winner of Section F (51/1,701) from Navan 2 was Gordon Bros & Sons of Cloughey H.P.S. The Gordons finish 1st, 2nd , 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th Club (273 Birds) The top 19 Positions in Section F (1,701 Birds) For the 2nd week in a row the Gordons show their dominance in the Section and Club Result from Navan. Their team of birds are bred from the very best of Dirk Van Den Bulck, Blizzard King Kittel, and Leo Hermans bloodlines. The birds are flown to the perch, and they race on the roundabout system mid-way through the season. The Winner of Section G (31/1,576) from Kilbeggan 2 was Owen Markey of Ballyholland H.P.S. Owen takes the top 13 places in the Club (321 Birds) 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13 of the top 14 positions in the Section (1,576 Birds) 191st, 199th, 200th, 204th, 209th (14,072 Birds) After a super start from last week’s race from Kilbeggan its only gotten better for Owen dominating Club and Section yet again. 1st Section Winner was bred by Kevin Rooney from his Gust Jansen Lines. 2nd Section Winner is from ‘700’ he obtained 1st Section 2nd Open N.I.P.A Skibbereen Yearling National & 9th Open N.I.P.A Roscrea and many other positions. 3rd Section Winner is also bred from the race team from a Son of ‘Mascara’ x ’97 Hen’. Many Congratulations to Owen Markey and Big Congratulations to all Club Winners.
