The Nipa continued their racing season with a comeback race from Roscrea in County Tipperary. Birds were up at 12.30pm in light winds on Saturday 2nd September. Danny Dixon of Dunloy had the best two birds doing 1612 & 1611 to take 1st & 2nd in the Mid Antrim Combine, 4th & 5th Section B and 27th & 29th Open Nipa 7511 birds. Danny's first bird is bred from a son of the Aviary Cock when paired to a niece of Surperkie and his second one is an inbred granddaughter of Dixie Chic. Runner up in the Combine and 6th Section, 35th Open was Cullybackey's Gary Gibson on 1608. Gary timed one from his Sticker Donckers family. From a Van Vugt cock paired to a full sister of Danny Dixon's 1st Open Nipa Tullamore winner 17,775 birds. Shane Johnston continued his fine form with his fourth win in young birds. Shane had the best two birds in Ballymena & District and the Town on 1596 & 1578. His winner a Willy Van Herk was gifted by good friend Gary Gibson of Cullybackey.
