2024 RPRA Price List – With effect from the 1st May 2024 The 2024 RPRA rule book is now live on the website and has also been printed in the British Homing World. I would like to draw your attention to the changes in the price list on the back page. Firstly, you will notice that these prices no longer include postage and packaging. Royal Mail have recently been making frequent increases to postage costs which require constant monitoring, and our overheads are also increasing. By adding postage and packaging costs at point of sale, we can be flexible enough to ensure the association is not absorbing this extra expenditure. Ring sales are one of our main sources of income and these too have now been priced without postage and packaging. The cost of rings has been increased to 22p each to organisations. To encourage early ordering, those who order 2025 rings before the end of September will receive a 2.5% discount, which will allow our office staff to process them ready for dispatch from RPRA HQ on the first working day in December. Distances are free when applied for by organisations and the charge for individuals has increased from £2.53 to £3.00 per distance. Loft locations are now £6.00 for members with non-members being charged £12.00 and personal loft reports from £5.17 to £7.50. Partnership formations or dissolutions were charged at £5.00 yet they incur a lot of office work, mainly on the telephone to address issues and then generate a letter of confirmation being sent to each partner. Considering the postage cost, stationary, office overheads and staff hours £5.00 clearly does not suffice, especially those partnerships with multiple members, this charge has now increased to £5.00 per member. The very same problem existed with the transfer forms priced at just £2.00 to transfer the ownership of up to six rings. The office work required along with the written confirmation to each member listed requires this to be increased to £5.00 for up to six pigeons on the form. Verifications has increased from 15p per ring number to 20p. It has been several years since these service charges have increased and I hope you will understand that with the rising costs of labour, overheads and postage, these increases will ensure we can at least break even on our services and allow us to be more flexible if inflationary pressures continue.
