East Antrim Amalgamation
Roscrea 27/4/24
Saturday saw the 2nd old bird race of the season and after an early alteration to the race program
the EAA found themselves 30 miles further on down the road in Roscrea!
Once again at liberation site the videos and conditions looked excellent and a liberation at 9.30 am
was given the green light.
Topping the Amalgamation this week were the super Larne partnership of Crawford and Robinson,
Rab and Gary timing the hen which had won the previous week for them from Kilbeggan. An
excellent velocity on a challenging day with the weather presenting a few different fronts including
some rain and hail on route.
Sire is a Leo van rijn
Dam is a Lesley madden
Excellent couple of weeks for the lads and very well done from all at the EAA!
Jonny Baxter EAA Press Officer

Yet again another great race under the N.I.P.A. well done to all who organised a great second race.
Next week as we move into the month of May sees another Roscrea race to get into the swing of
things for further miles to be added ahead. I would like to kindly ask for all club representatives/race
secretaries within the covered sections of C, D, F & G to contact myself to be included in my weekly
Reports, With Club , Section & Open Winning Photos, With the Winning Pigeons Info etc.

This was mentally my toughest report to compile to date as My Granda sadly passed away early this
morning. It was extremely difficult to type and take notes, but I love doing these reports for the
readers and members. Completing this report has kept me focused while also checking in on the
birds for a few breaks in-between. We as pigeon fanciers are also very lucky to have such a sport
that can totally take your mind elsewhere in tough times.
Thank you to everyone for their kind messages.

Rest easy Granda
Yours in Sport , Jordan Hughes
