Hi All just a quick update on the Carlow show been held Friday 14 and Saturday 15 th November. Preparations are now at an early advanced stage itinerary of events is as follows firstly we have organised several spectacular prizes which will be drawn on the night from one half off your door ticket. The first panel will commence at 7 pm and we have worked very hard to make these panels both as balanced and informative as possible. First panel the following outstanding fanciers Mr Nigel Laycock MR Yannic De Ridder Mr Leo Bingham Mr Sean O Driscoll plus a possible additional special guest. Second panel commencing approx 8.15 Mr David Black Sterio Brothers Mr Mark Ewebanks Mr Nigel Laycock. This should be an amazing evening. In Addition we the committee wish to acknowledge those within our sport who have made significant contribution to the sport in that regard we will be presenting several special recognition awards on the night. The Downes Syndrome charity auction commencing immediately after the panels I can confirm has absolutely spectacular lots included in this auction and we thank in advance the many ace fanciers household names who have been in touch already. All monies raised will be handed over on the night directly to te charity. The Saturday format includes the show opens at approx 12 pm at approx 11 am Colin Leask will give a presentation on health for those interested and who wouldn’t be given the present climate. With over 20 trade stands attending plus mr Kearoles T Soliman theres something for everyone. Note to competitors the proposed classes will be announced early Sept. We’re working on something special here also particularly for junior fanciers to encourage them further. Many overseas fanciers have signalled their intent on travelling the hotel car park can facilitate camper vans and the hotel itself is spectacular and well booked already. Carlow show update as promised the following are the show classes. Class 1 Old Cocks. Class 2 Old Hens. Class 3 young Cocks. Class 4 young Hens. Class 5 channel class cock or Hen. Class 6 eye sign cock or Hen/ Judge Mr John Wheatcroft. Please note the Junior class is to encourage under 12 competitors who distinctly manage their own birds we would rather see genuine effort rather than perfection and allowances will be made in this regard in the interest of fair play.In addition were extremely pleased to announce the participation of the Dublin South Road Fed Champion Mr Pat Byrne Sarsfields to our esteemed panel. Pat has agreed to make himself freely available to any fancier looking for advice on any subject matter on the Sat morning this is a special feature we always try to include in Carlow and we thank Pat for this. Commences at 8.15 approx any fancier wishing to ask questions can in the first instance have them in writing and handed to the stewards in advance or indeed freely ask off the floor. Following the conclusion of the panels several achievement awards will be presented.The Charity auction will follow this and be assured the lots on offer are superbly bred specifically for this Downes Syndrome Charity.
