Congratulations to Thompson & Lunn on a fantastic result on what seems to have been a very
successful day of racing for them. A massive well done to everybody in the top 10, in what was a real
good test for the young birds. Great to see so many different fanciers from multiple different clubs in
the prizes. Thank you to everybody who took part this year, it would not have been possible without
your support.
The main men will get in contact with you regarding prize money and a photo of each of the birds in
the top 10.
This is a scheme the club would love to continue so get in contact if you would like to give it a go
next year.

Grizzle YB Derby

Our Grizzle Young Bird Derby from Fermoy (16th Aug). Total entry of 74 birds, racing for a total of
£740.00 – all money paid out.
Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who entered for supporting us, secondly a big thanks
to Darren Aiken for a lot of the background work – great job as always.
Top Spot taking 1st Prize of £370.00 is the Partnership of Thompson and Lunn. Darren and Deborah
purchased their Grizzle Cock from their annual trip to Belgium this year, a pure Eric Ceulemans. He
raced the 4 NIPA races prior to Fermoy, was coming well and started to show a bit of interest in a
hen who made herself at home on his shelf. This Grizzle Cock came directly online to the garden,
wings folded, hit the roof and straight in! Darren and Deborah are delighted to have won this race
and Darren added “A Big Thank you to Debs for all her hard work”. This Cock finished a very
respectable 2nd Club, beaten by loft mate who was 1st in the Dromara Gold Ring race on the same

day. 1st Grizzle YB Derby, 23rd Section E 3,429 birds and 25th Open 9,967 birds. Congratulations to
you both.
2nd Prize goes to Ian Gibb & Sons, winning £222.00. This young grizzle was bred from two direct Luc
Vervoorts.
3rd Prize goes to J F McCabe and Son winning £148.00. Their Hen was bred by Wayne Doonan of
Cock Crow Breeding Lofts and is pure A & B Liedeman. The Sire is a Son of Rachael who was 1st
11,059 birds. The Dam is a Gdtr of El Zarka, the Sire of the Goed Grijs. This Hen was also 10th in the
Dromara Gold Ring race, collecting prize money.
Very Well Done to all our Winners and wishing everyone all the best for the remainder of the
season.
