SALE THANKS -

Post by willie reynolds »

Larne & District HPS will host a Young Bird Sale in the local clubrooms on Friday 2nd April, birds in the pen from 7.00pm, sale at 7.30pm. Birds have been donated by local lofts and friends and the sale is in support of Brian & Val Derbyshire who tragically lost their grand-son following an accident in Australia. Brian is a good worker for the sport and is part of the D Donnelly & Partners team.

* The sale was held as planned in the Larne & District HPS Clubrooms in support of Brian & Val Derbyshire who tragically lost their grand-son following an accident in Australia. The sale lifted over £1200, could I ask that you would thank all those who very kindly had donated pigeons, all who bought pigeons and/or made cash donations. A big thank-you to Noel Ferguson and Adrian Beggs who donated the prize fund for Fermoy race and also to the lads from the North Coast Classic One Loft race at Coleraine who generously gave a free race entry as a ballot prize. The ballot was won by Russell McAlary, one of the visitors. Many thanks as well to William Gray who sent me the news.

Doagh & Dist HPS will be holding a Breeder/Buyer sale (cards only) in McConnells Lounge Doagh on Saturday 27th March at 2.00pm. This year there will be two hotpot races from Roscrea & Clonmel 4th & 5th official N.I.P.A. y/bird races with £100 per race and the main race will be Talbenny Young Bird National with the NIPA. This year it will be open to Section B & C and with birds promised from many top racing lofts we are hoping for a record amount of prize money up for grabs.

* The Doagh & District HPS Breeder/Buyer Sale took place in McConnell’s Lounge on Saturday 27th March. This was their most successful sale to date, in total the club lifted £1,730 with £1,100 being raced for in the Talbenny Young Bird National, £200 in the Hotspot races, also £391 going to club funds. The club would like to thank Sid Collins for auctioning the birds and all the fanciers who bought Y/Birds and donated Y/Birds. Many thanks as well to John McConnell for the use of the premises, and the bottle of Vodka for the ballot. Thanks to John Wilson for the news snip on the very successful sale.
