Post by willie reynolds »

Despite a favourable forecast last weeks NIPA race from Roscrea, 145 miles proved to be somewhat erratic with the birds well spread out and many empty perches at night. Locally 79 members had sent 953 birds and topping the Federation on this occasion is the Foyle partnership of Jim & Gary Ramsay who are now beginning to get back to winning ways. Davy Wick takes top honours in the Londonderry RPS and has 2 in the Fed for 2nd & 17th. Pearse Breslin and son are in again for 3rd & 19th while NIPA President Joe Kelly and Donal take 4th. Maiden City winners Kieran Quigley and Damien Dunne take 5th.

Other results: 6th -- M Jones; 7th & 10th - P Mc Laughlin; 8th - T & M Gallagher; 9th - W & D Hamilton; 11th - S Gallagher & Son; 12th -S Mc Grotty; 13th - N Murray; 14th - B & K Reid; 15th - N McClay; 16th - F Ramsay; 18th - D Simpson; 20th - D Friel.

The Federation will hold a race from Navan on Bank Holiday Monday, 3rd May, weather permitting of course. Basketing will take place on Sunday night at members clubs.
