Post by willie reynolds »

Last week the NIPA birds were in Fermoy, a distance just short of 200 miles for the 71 members who had sent 677 birds in City of Derry Federation. Yet again the convoy made the journey in less time than anticipated with not a few fanciers being caught by early arrivals. Top spot goes to the Maiden City loft of Frankie Ramsay who enjoyed an excellent fly with 3 birds in the frame taking 1st, 11th & 16th positions. Frankie also takes the top spot in Section H rounding off a good weekend for the Foyle Springs loft. Runner-up spot goes to the Maybrook loft of Damien Dunne & Kieran Quigley who also take 13th. The Creggan loft of Mickey & Don Coyle are in 3rd position with McGettigan Bro's taking 4th. Finally the Fox & Hegarty partnership take 5th Fed and top the Rock Flying Club.

Other results: 6th - J McLaughlin; 7th, 8th, 9th, 12th, 14th & 20th – M/M P Maxwell; 10th - Quigley & Dunne; 15th - Cooley Bros; 17th - N & S Mc Grotty; 18th - P & M Healy; 19th - J Diamond.

The members of the City of Derry Racing Pigeon Federation wish to extend their condolences to the family of the late Willie Henderson, Drumahoe who passed away last week. Willie, a life long and dedicated fancier whose performances from the distance races are without equal, will be sadly missed by his many friends in the sport.
