Plaudren - Vannes Kings Cup 2010
Race marking will take place on Tuesday 29th June at Danescroft Equestrian Centre Waterloo Road Lisburn BT27 5NW.

The birds were race marked in Lisburn on Tuesday for the seasons Blue Riband Kings Cup due to be flown from Plaudren (Vannes) on Friday 2nd July. It was fairly steady over the whole afternoon getting just a little busier after tea-time which is usual. The entry is similar to the season previous some 741 members have sent 2,514 birds. A yearling won the race last season from the same race-point for T & T Moorehouse of Rathnew in Dublin, his bird recorded velocity 1416 for 388 miles. Runner-up G Buckley & Sons from Annaghmore took 1st North Section, recording velocity 1390 for 488 miles. The convoy was released at 6.15hrs in a Lt West wind. Last season 770 members sent 2,619 pigeons. Best of luck to one and all, Friday looks like the day.

CONFIRMED LIBERATION on Saturday 3rd July at 7.30am - Those triming birds should insert the correct distances for Plaudren, it some 7 miles shorter than previous point at Vannes.
Liberation in Plaudren (France) has been confirmed as 7.30am in a Lt North wind to be SW around Penzance and strengthen on the route home. Birds were released in sunshine and blue skies. 741 members sent 2,512 birds competing for £35,775 in pools and prizes. Clocks should be returned to your usual centre for checking, in Northern Ireland that is either Banbridge, Lisburn or Muckamore. The Clock Centre officials are as before.
