INFC: Members are reminded that the next race from Penzance is due to be flown on Wednesday 8th September, the Blue Riband YB Nat and Old Hens Nat as well. The Robin Duddy Trophy is for the 3 Bird Nomination covering Yearling Nat and Young Bird Nat. Any members who timed one of their three nominated birds in the Yearling Nat can nominate up to 3 birds on the race entry form for YB Penzance. The winner of £1,000 and the Robin Duddy Trophy will be the best average over the two races for those who joined the 3 Bird Nomination.

Update on Friday 3rd September 2010 at 08.30 hours.

Weather reports at present are being monitored for Wednesday, and a decision will be taken on Sunday afternoon if the race marking will take place on Monday. Further information will be available on Sunday evening.

Any members who have entered the Robin Duddy challenge please remember to nominate up to three pigeons on the race entry form.

Pigeons will be race marked for the Penzance Young Bird National and Old Hens National on Tuesday 7th September for a proposed liberation on Thursday 9th September.The centre will be open at the usual times for marking.

PENZANCE YOUNG BIRD NATIONAL 487 MEMBERS HAVE ENTERED 2432 PIGEONS AND ARE COMPETING FOR £20,828 IN POOLS AND PRIZE MONEY.

PENZANCE OLD HENS NATIONAL 102 MEMBERS HAVE ENTERED 291 PIGEONS AND ARE COMPETING FOR £1738 IN POOLS AND PRIZE MONEY.

THE PIGEONS HAVE BEEN RELEASED AT 8.30.

THE WIND AT THE RELEASE SITE WAS LIGHT NORTH WEST AND EN ROUTE WILL BE WEST TURNING SOUTH WEST.

Birds for the INFC Penzance were race marked one day late due to an unfavourable weather forecast, liberation for the Blue Riband YB event and Old Hens was Thursday 9th September at 8.30am in a Lt North West wind. A hard race was expected, 487 members sent 2,432 birds competing for £20,828 and in the Old Hens Nat 102 members sent 291 birds competing for £1,738.

Gregg Bros & McCandless timed their old hen at 15.20hrs flying 311 miles to be best in the Muckamore Centre, next best Danny Dixon had the best young bird timed at 16.05hrs flying 339 miles. Both birds did in fact top the Open Result for 1st National. For Gregg Bros & McCandless it was a dream winning the race for the second year on the trot, I believe this bird was 6th Open last season and what about Danny Dixon. He is still coming to terms with this latest success and joins a select few that have won both YB Nat events with the INFC, his bird had flown well all year and was in Talbenny. Danny has had a best ever race season that includes 2nd Open NIPA on two occasions and a record number of 1sts covering his local club Ballymoney, Mid Antrim Combine and the NIPA Section B. More detailed reports will follow.
