NIPA delayed the release until 12.30pm looking for the best conditions but got a similar race as East Down who had liberated earlier at 9.15pm. Only around half the convoy made home lofts on the day and the winners in Mid Antrim took around six hours for the 220 miles. It was the hardest race to date and a lot of lofts will struggle to see out the season at the end of the month. Best in Mid Antrim was the Milliken & Barkley team in Rasharkin who recorded velocity 1052, their 2 year old Dark Cheq cock was sitting on eggs, bloodlines were Van Wildemeersch and Schloperhurst x Braspenning through Danny Dixon. W & J Smyth had a super card and were best in Ballymena (1044), and other top winners included Young McManus & Sons 1st Ahoghill (1039), J & N Simpson 1st Broughshane (1033), N & S Anderson 1st Cullybackey (1032), S Millar 1st Randalstown (1028), and the former OB Derby winner T Shanks & Son 1st Kells (1027).
