RESULTS FOR TRAINING FLIGHT 9 & CAR RACE HOT SPOT 3.
TRAINING FLIGHT 9 took place on Wednesday 12th December 2012 from 78km (48 miles) and the basketing list on the official web site showed a total of 3,330 pigeons were basketed and this total was made up by 2,974 International, which included 310 United Kingdom and 43 Irish pigeons plus 356 from South Africa.
The convoy were liberated at 07.15 in cloudy and cool conditions, light head wind, with temperature of 19c (66f) and a good race was expected.
The OPEN result was as follows and CONGRATULATIONS goes to Dr Laszio Gotthard from Hungary who took 1st Open with pigeon named Delphinia which was clocked at 08.19.51.65 to record a velocity of 1320ypm (45mph), this pigeon has already won 61st, 118th, 262nd, 46th, 47tgh and now 1st Open, 2nd just 00.44 seconds later Henrik Meldgaard from Denmark, this pigeon has already won 40th,9th,26th and now 2nd Open, 3rd Team Esser – Klaas from Germany, another pigeon that is flying well and already won 24th, 15th, 12th and now 3rd Open, 4th Bredenhand and Viljoen from South Africa, 5th Team Eagle Eye from Germany, 6th Thomas Kornelius from Germany, 7th Fahad J Alazmi from Kuwait,
8th Aurea Dream Team UK from United Kingdom, this pigeon won 35th Open in the previous race, 9th Reinhard Kramer und Sohn from Germany, 10th Ganus Family Loft from United States Of America, 11th Ignace Vercauteren from Belgium, 12th Christian Steinhagen from Germany, 13th Paul Byrski from United States Of America, 14th Wilfried Muehlenstrodt from Germany, 15th Herbert Seidensticker from Germany, 16th Racing Team Illusion from Germany, 17th Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp from Netherlands, 18th Premier Stud UK Syndicate from United Kingdom, 19th Tucker and Norton Team from United States Of America and 20th Karel Klemens from Czech Republic, a past winner of this great race. The time gap between the first 20 pigeons was just 30.65 seconds and a total of 10 different countries were represented in this result. A total of 3,283 pigeons were officially recorded on the day up to 18.04, leaving 47 still to make it back to the lofts.
CONGRATULATIONS for winning 1st UK, 8th Open went to Aurea Dream Team UK, administered by Ronnie Johnson from West Bromwich and with pigeon named Farlow Corey, that also won 35th Open in its previous race and which was bred by R. Stokes & Son from Farlow, which was officially clocked at 08.20.07.30 just 15.65 seconds behind the actual race winner, 2nd UK, 18th Open Premier Stud UK Syndicate, administered by Paul Smith from Stansted Mountfitchet and with a pigeon bred by Premier Stud from Patringham Haven, 3rd UK, 22nd Open Woodhouse Lofts with a pigeon bred by Nev Proctor from Brown Edge, 4th UK, 36th Open Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe with pigeon that is flying extremely well over the past few races, 5th UK, 53rd Open Kelly, Van Boxmeer and Sparkes with another pigeon bred by Premier Stud from Patringham Haven, 6th UK, 61st Open David Hinkel from Wimbledon Common who has been flying a good pigeon in this race series, 7th UK, 71st Open Toms Terriers with a pigeon that was bred by Tom Berry from Silsden and which has already scored in this series, 8th & 20th UK, 74th & 192nd Open Paul Smith Syndicate, administered by Paul and with two pigeons bred by Jimmy Richards from Laindon, 9th UK, 79th Open N+A Evans and Cuthbert from Wolviston who won a Brand New Motor Car last year, 10th UK, 83rd Open Guys Lofts Elite and with pigeon bred by Graham Guy from Wolverhampton, 11th UK, 90th Open Smith – McAllister Syndicate, administer by Paul Smith and with a pigeon bred by Bruce McAllister from Furneaux Pelham, 12th UK, 94th Open Lloyd and Kelly from Abingdon whose pigeons are flying exceptionally well in this race series, 13th UK, 100th Open Emerald Classic with pigeon bred by John Boyd from Ballyclare, 14th UK, 102nd Open Harbro Hellcats, administered by Ken Chapman from Leicester and a pigeon bred by Adrian Duggins which has been scoring consistently, 15th UK, 114th Open Ian Stafford – James Parker from Tyne & Wear, 16th UK, 142nd Open BJ Leadbeater – Oberholster with pigeon bred by Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe, 17th UK, 160th Open Gribbles Choice with pigeon bred by Phillip Bond & Son from Torquay who won a Brand New Motor Car last year, 18th UK, 168th Open Tickets Collectors,
19th UK, 181st Open for Manchester Maestros with pigeon bred by Crehan & O’Connor from Salford whose team of pigeons flew an exceptionally well during the 2011/12 race series and actually had a pigeon named Plutology one of the best pigeons ever to fly in the 16 year history of this great race. A total of 307 UK pigeons were officially recorded on the day, leaving 3 still to return to base camp.
CONGRATULATIONS for winning 1st Ireland, 72nd Open went to Jos Reilly – Team Ireland with pigeon named Jos 13 which was clocked at 08.21.42.40 just 1 minute 50.75 seconds behind the race winner, 2nd Ireland, 99th Open Paul Poole and Son, 3rd Ireland, 177th Open Hennie + Anette Kallmeyer, 4th Ireland, 295th Open Moran + Bowden, 5th Ireland, 361st Open Philip + Mark Smith and 6th Ireland, 424th Open Mousies Dream Team. A total of 42 Irish pigeons were recorded on the day, leaving just 1 pigeons to return to the lofts.
THE OVERALL GRAND AVERAGES WHICH OFFERS A US$10,000 (£6,500), US$5,000 (£3,250) and US$2,500 (£1,625) CASH PRIZES in this category results after 11 official races currently stands as follows:- 1st Mershed Jedova Alnamlan from Kuwait with his pigeon named M J 1 with a combined flying time of 13.16.38.58. It should be mentioned that fanciers from Kuwait currently hold the first two positions in this category. The first UK pigeon holds 8th Open and is owned by Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe with his pigeon named Obi See You with a combined flying time of 13.46.23.64. There are 3 UK pigeons in the top 27 in this category. The first Irish pigeon holds 87th Open and is owned by Moran + Bowden with their pigeon named Tiny Tegan with a combined flying time of 14.27.31.18.
CASCADE CHALLENGE had 68 entries for Training Flight 9 and this included 10 pigeons from the UK and just 2 from Ireland. The “POT OF GOLD” of US$2,748 (£1,832)
was not won and this sum will be carried over to CAR RACE HOT SPOT 3, the nearest pigeon won 16th Open for Racing Team Illusion from Germany with their pigeon named Syly Sturmfalke. The best UK pigeon took 272nd Open for Harbro Rowdies, administer by Ken Chapman from Leicester and with their pigeon named Abbykins bred by Adrian Duggins. The best Irish pigeon took 424th Open for Mousies Dream Team with pigeon named The Deise Rocket.
GLOBAL NOMINATIONS for this race amounted to US$3,235.10c (£2,157) and had a total of 146 pigeons entered and this included 17 UK and 3 Irish pigeons, with as total of 448 nominations. Only one UK winner and that was Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe with his pigeon named Obi See You which won US$471.75c (£315) for its efforts. CONGRATULATIONS TO THIS FANCIER WHO HAS ALREADY WON NUMEROUS NOMINATIONS IN THIS RACE SERIES.
CAR RACE HOT SPOT 3 took place on Saturday 15th December 2012 from 233km (145 miles) and the basketing list on the official web site showed a total of 3,338 pigeons being basketed and this total included 2,982 International, which included 310 United Kingdom and 45 Irish pigeons, plus 356 South African pigeons.
The convoy were liberated at 05.30 in fine and clear conditions with a light head wind and temperature of 17c (63f) and a reasonable race was expected.
The OPEN result was as follows and CONGRATULATIONS goes to Jan Hooymans – Hu Zhen Yu from Netherlands who took 1st Open with their pigeon named Puch which was officially clocked at 08.34.36.93 to record a winning velocity of 1380ypm (47mph), this pigeon had won 56th, 47th and now 1st Open in its last 3 races, 2nd Tomasz Jopek from Poland, 3rd Las Vladimir and Juraj from Slovakia, 4th Team Betrlich from Germany, 5th, 6th & 7th Koopman Racing Team from Netherlands, a fantastic achievement to get three pigeons arrive in the winning pack against such strong competition, 8th Mohammed Marzouq Al-Alwan from Kuwait, with his super pigeon named Al Alwan 3 which has already won 21st, 2nd, 63rd, 59th, 33rd, 48th, 5th, 136th and now 8th Open, what a great pigeon, 9th Frank Reidegeld from Germany, 10th Jan Hooymans – Hu Zhen YU from Germany with their second arrival, 11th Club Stellenberg Klub from South Africa, 12th Fahad Mubarak Al-Watry from Kuwait, 13th Heinz Axer from Germany, 14th Moran + Bowden from Ireland, 15th Al Aljuwaisri from Kuwait, 16th Fahad J Alazmi from Kuwait, 17th Karl Newill from Germany, 18th N+A Evans and Cuthbert from United Kingdom, 19th Alois Radecker from Germany and 20th Flojo Team from Netherlands. The time gap between the first 20 pigeons was just 15.15 seconds and a total of 8 different countries were represented in this result. A total of 3,218 pigeons were clocked on the day up to 18.50, leaving 120 still to make it back to the lofts. A few more pigeons may have made it back on the day but a tremendous thunderstorm where the lofts are situated happened and 17.25 and unfortunately shut out the latecomers. Another 40 worked back on Sunday, leaving just 80 missing. The next listing on the official web site on Tuesday showed a total of 3,303 in the lofts which meant that just 27 pigeons were missing from this Car Race Hot Spot 3.
***BRAND NEW MOTOR CAR WINNER IN CAR RACE HOT SPOT 3 was won by pigeon named Puch which won 1st Open for Jan Hooymans – Hu Zhen Yu from Netherlands. AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR THESE FANCIERS. CONGRATULATIONS ON THIS SUPERB PERFORMANCE. This is the second Brand New Motor Car that the Netherland Team have won in this 2012/13 race series.
***TWENTY US$1,000 (£650) CASH PRIZES IN CAR RACE HOT SPOT 3 were all won in this race by the top 20 pigeons that were clocked in this event and all the names of the winning entrants are mentioned above in the Open result. WELL DONE TO ALL CONCERNED.
***TWO PIGEON CHALLENGE OFFERS A US$2,000 (£1,300) CASH PRIZE was won by Koopman Racing Team (Team H) from Netherlands with his two pigeons named Top Shiner and Powder Blue. The best UK Team was 48th Open for Mark Gilbert (Team D) from Windsor with Southfield Pat and Southfield Tubby. There were 11 UK Teams listed in the top 100.
The best Irish Team took 143rd Open for O’Donnell ABU Lofts (Team A) with Tommy’s Treasure 2 and Joes Delight 2 both bred by Maurice O’Donnell.
***THE KNOCKOUT COMPETITION:- originally there was a total of 3,026 fully paid up pigeons, which was made up by 2,759 International including 279 from United Kingdom, 57 from Ireland, plus 267 from South Africa. This figure was whittled down to 1,967 pigeons and these will now compete against each other and the top 55% (1,082) pigeons will go through to Round 3 which will take place on Car Race Hot Spot 4. The figure of 1,082 pigeons was made up by 999 International including 96 from the United Kingdom, 18 from Ireland and 83 from South Africa. The first pigeon clocked from the 76 remaining pigeons in Round 5 in this category in the Final Race will walk away with a cool US$25,000 (£16,225). GOOD LUCK TO ALL CONCERNED IN THE NEXT ROUND.
***CAR RACE HOT SPOT ACE PIGEON AWARDS OFFERS A US$5,000 (£3,250) CASH PRIZE:- After 3 races the top position 1st Open is held by Ali Aljuwaisri from Kuwait with his pigeon named Shurouq 2 with a combined flying time of 07.06.45.88. The best UK pigeon holds 10th Open and belongs to Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe with his good pigeon Obi See You with a combined flying time of 07.15.49.34. The best Irish pigeon holds 56th Open for Aurea Dream Team Eire with pigeon named Kelly’s Eye bred by Lloyd and Kelly from Abingdon.
CONGRATULATIONS for winning 1st UK, 18th Open went to N+A Evans and Cuthbert with their winning pigeon named Burntoft Brandy which was bred by this partnership from Wolviston. Their winner was officially clocked at 08.34.51.63 just 14.69 seconds behind the actual race winner. This partnership always fly a good pigeon and won a Brand New Motor Car in the 2011/12 race series and also came 11th Open in the Final Race a few years ago, 2nd UK, 35th Open Premier Stud UK Syndicate, administered by Paul Smith from Stansted Mountfitchet and with a pigeon bred by Premier Stud from Patringham Haven,
3rd UK, 62nd Open Syndicate Lofts UK with a pigeon bred by Peter Fox from Bangor, this pigeon had previously won 1st UK in this race series, 4th UK, 71st Open Toms Terriers with a pigeon bred by Tom Berry from Silsden, this pigeon has also scored in this race series,
5th & 6th UK, 74th & 75th Open Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe, his second pigeon Obi See You has been flying exceptionally well up to now and has already won quite a lot of Nomination money so far, 7th UK, 90th Open Aurea Dream Syndicate UK, administer by Ronnie Johnson from West Bromwich and with pigeon bred by Tad Truszkowski, 8th UK, 136th Open Carlos Dream Syndicate, administered by Paul Smith and with a pigeon bred by Jos Reilly from Dublin. This syndicate has three equal shareholders namely Paul Smith, Jos Reilly and Eamon Kelly and was formed to keep the name of Carlo Napolitano (Late Loft Manager to Her Majesty The Queen) actively involved with this great race, 9th & 15th UK, 149th & 237th Open Lloyd and Kelly from Abingdon with two pigeons bred by this partnership whose entries this year are flying very well, 10th & 18th UK, 159th & 259th Open Team Thomas, with two pigeons bred by Jackson - Andrew - Kirby from Asselby whose pigeons have also being flying well in this race series, 11th UK, 188th Open John Bradley from Wolverhampton, 12th UK, 202nd Open Fenlands Lofts with a pigeon bred by Darren Peters from East Heckington who entered 3 pigeons in this race and still had all 3 entered in this race, 13th UK, 223rd Open Kelly, Van Boxmeer and Sparkes with a pigeon bred by Premier Stud from Patringhan Haven, 14th UK, 228th Open Diamonds Are Forever Syndicate with a pigeon bred by Jackson – Andrew – Kirby from Asselby, 16th UK, 242nd Mr+Mrs Clayburn from Ackworth, this partnership won 1st Open in Final Race 2009, 17th UK, 255th Open Mark Gilbert from Windsor who needs no introductions to any pigeon fancier in the world today as his performances over the past few years can only be described as phenomenal, 19th UK, 262nd Open Harbro Rowdies, administered by Ken Chapman from Leicester and with a pigeon bred by Adrian Duggins that has also scored a few times in this race series and then 20th UK, 286th Open David Hinkel from Wimbledon Common whose team of pigeons have also scored a few times this year. David came to the UK from South Africa a few years ago and now enters a few one loft races around the world. A total of 299 UK pigeons were officially recorded on the day, leaving 11 still to make it back to the lofts. Another 3 pigeons returned to the lofts on Sunday, leaving just 8 to return. The next loft listing on Tuesday showed 303 UK pigeons were in the lofts, which left just 7 still to return.
CONGRATULATIONS for winning 1st Ireland, 14th Open were Moran + Bowden with their pigeon named Big Roberto which was clocked at 08.34.50.63 just 13.69 seconds behind the race winner, 2nd Ireland, 109th Open Philip + Mark Smith, 3rd Ireland, 160th Open Paul Poole and Son, 4th Ireland, 320th Open O’Donnell ABU Lofts, 5th Ireland, 634th Open Bernard Smyth – Gordon Bros., and 6th Ireland, 700th Open another for O’Donnell ABU Lofts. A total of 42 Irish pigeons were officially recorded on the day, leaving just 3 still to return to the lofts. No more Irish pigeons returned to the lofts on Sunday. The next loft listing on Tuesday showed 43 Irish pigeons were in the lofts, leaving 2 still to make it back to base camp.

This great pigeon has already won 21st, 2nd, 63rd, 59th, 33rd, 48th, 5th, 136th and now 8th in this last race. Fabulous results in such strong competition. The first UK pigeon is holding 5th Open and belongs to Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe with his pigeon named Obi See You with a combined flying time of 16.54.21.23. This pigeon has also won quite a few top positions in the first 12 races. There are 7 UK pigeons in this top 84 in this category. The first Irish pigeon holds 70th Open and belongs to Moran + Bowden with pigeon named Big Roberto with a combined flying time of 17.45.43.66. This partnership also holds onto 87th Open with Tiny Tegan.

ALL THESE RACES WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE APPOINTED DAY PROVIDING THE WEATHER IS SUITABLE FOR THE LIBERATION AND RACE TO TAKE PLACE, IF NOT THEY COULD BE FLOWN ON ANOTHER DAY WHEN THE WEATHER FORECAST WAS MORE FAVOURABLE. ONLY RACES OF 50KM (31 MILES) OR OVER COUNT TOWARDS THE ACE PIGEON AWARDS. ALL THE NOMINATION RACES ARE ALL MARKED WITH AN ASTERIX (*) NEXT TO THE FLIGHT OR RACE.
In the GLOBAL NOMINATIONS for CAR RACE HOT SPOT 3 there were a total of 408 pigeons entered and this included 45 from the UK and 3 from Ireland and there was a total of 1,426 Nominations and US$12,965.05c (£8,644) was up for grabs. Only two UK pigeons won any money and they were 74th Open Obi Real Time won US$51 (£34) and 75th Open Obi See You also won US$51 (£34) and both pigeons were both bred by Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe. CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE UNITED KINGDOM WINNERS. UK COUNTRY NOMINATIONS only had a 10 pigeons entered and 34 Nominations and Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe won 75th Open with pigeon named Obi See You which won US$367.20c (£245) for its effort.
CASCADE CHALLENGE is basically a “Single Pigeon Nomination” at a cost of US$10 (£6-50) per pigeon. Only one pigeon in each syndicate can be entered and to win this “Pot Of Gold” a nominated pigeon has to win 1st Open. If not then whatever is in the pot carries forward to the next Nomination Flight. In CAR RACE HOT SPOT 3 there was a total of 164 pigeons entered and that contained 12 UK and 2 Irish pigeons and “THE POT OF GOLD” and US$4,142 (£2,762) was not won and will be carried over to Training Flight 10. The nearest pigeon took 3rd Open for Las Vladimir and Juraj from Slovakia with named Gabi L.
The best UK pigeon was Obi See You bred by Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe which took 75th Open. The best Irish pigeon was Joes Delight 2 bred by Maurice O’Donnell from ABU Lofts which took 995th Open. GOOD LUCK IN THE NEXT ROUND TO ALL ENTRANTS.
Of course before you can actually NOMINATION a pigeon or pigeons or put a pigeon in the CASCADE CHALLENGE you must have the appropriate funds in your AS account. So if you wish to have a bit of extra fun during the 2012/13 race series please contact your Country Shipper as soon as possible who will then pass your funds over to the race organisers so that you have enough funds in your AS account to have a little gamble.
