Post by willie reynolds »

RESULTS FOR CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 & TRAINING FLIGHTS 12 & 13.

CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 took place on Saturday 29th December 2012 from 303km (188 miles) and the basketing list on the official web site showed a total of 3,299 pigeons were basketed and this total was made up by 2,946 International, which included 303 United Kingdom and 44 Irish pigeons plus 353 from South Africa.

The convoy were liberated at 05.20 in fine and clear conditions, little to no wind, with temperature of 19c (66f) and a good race was expected. The temperature was due to rise up to 32c (92f) as the day progressed. This race turned out to be one of the strangest HOT SPOT RACES in the 17 years history of the race and one can only assume that the pigeons must have hit a storm somewhere on their way home as only 2,159 pigeons (65.44%) made it home on the day out of 3,299 that were liberated.

The OPEN result was as follows and CONGRATULATIONS goes to Loft Einkamerer from South Africa who took 1st Open with pigeon named Shiloh which was clocked at 09.34.44.75 to record a velocity of 1298ypm (44mph), 2nd just 10.65 seconds later Hans Hirn from Germany, 3rd Manfred Tihen from Germany, 4th Fahad R Alazme from Kuwait,
5th Bunag Loft from United States Of America, 6th Koziol-Kaszuba from Poland, 7th Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp from Netherlands, 8th Mee and Hatoum from United States Of America, 9th SG Heinrich u Juergen Reinhard from Germany, 10th Team Mausen-Koeln from Germany, 11th Ruediger Schoenau from Germany, 12th Koopman Racing Team from Netherlands, 13th Salam Alotaibi from Kuwait, 14th Ganus Family Loft from United States Of America, 15th Ahsan Khan from United States Of America, 16th Ganus Family Loft from United States Of America, 17th Maria u Hubert Bramkamp from Germany, 18th Karl Fuermsinn from Austria, 19th Koopman Racing Team from Netherlands and 20th Bernd u Karin Schnell from Germany. The time gap between the first 20 pigeons was 3 minutes 05.40 seconds and a total of 7 different countries were represented in this result.

A total of 2,159 pigeons were officially recorded on the day up to 19-35, leaving a staggering 1,140 (34.56%) pigeons still to make it back to the lofts. The clocking system was left on for Sunday and luckily the weather was OK and by 18.43 a further 684 pigeons had returned to the lofts, making to running total up to 2,843 (86.17%) pigeons, which still left 456 to make it back to base camp. As this was an important race the clocking system was also left on during Monday and a further 83 returned up to 16.56 making a total of 2,926 back in the lofts. The Tuesday loft listing showed 2,945 pigeons (89.27%) in the lofts, which meant 354 (10.73%) were still missing.

***BRAND NEW MOTOR CAR WINNER IN CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 was won by Loft Einkamerer from South Africa with their pigeon named Shiloh that took 1st Open which of course made a late Christmas present for Butch Einkamerer.

***TWENTY US$1,000 (£625) CASH PRIZES IN CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 were won by the pigeons that took 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 19th and 20th Open which are all mentioned above in the Open result which meant that five pigeons from Poland, plus two from both United States Of America and Germany were
Not–Activated and did not win the allocated prize money. It really got worse because two more pigeons that took 22nd from Hungary and 23rd from Belgium also were Not-Activated, so this meant that the pigeons that took 21st from Netherlands, 24th from Germany, 25th from Netherlands, 26th from Germany and 27th from South Africa walked away with bonus cash prize of US$1,000 (£626) each for their efforts. That means that in the four CAR RACE HOT SPOTS held so far in this race series a total of 13 have not been Activated and have not won their US$1,000 (£625) cash prizes.

***TWO PIGEON CHALLENGE OFFERS A US$2,000 (£1,300) CASH PRIZE was won by Ganus Family Loft from United States Of America with pigeons two in Team J, named Laura Has Class and Super Howard The First. This great loft also took the runners up position with two more of their pigeons, which is a truly remarkable performance. The first United Kingdom competitor took 35th and was Mark Gilbert from Windsor with his two pigeons in Team A, named Southfield Benji and Southfield Home. The first Irish competitor took 80th and was Moran + Bowden with two pigeons in Team A named Lady Ellen and Andyman.

***THE KNOCKOUT COMPETITION:- originally attracted 3,026 fully paid up pigeons and 1,082 pigeons (55%) were still in the running in Round 3, this total contained 999 International including 96 from the United Kingdom, 18 from Ireland and 83 from South Africa. This figure would now be whittled down to 379 (35%) and after this tough race the following pigeons still remaining in this tough competition and this total was made up by 353 International pigeons which included 29 from the United Kingdom and 4 from Ireland, plus 26 from South Africa. These will now be entered for Round 4 which will take place on CAR RACE HOT SPOT 5 on Saturday 12th January 2013 from 350km (218 miles) when the top 76 (20%) pigeons will go through to the Knockout Final Round which will take place on Saturday 2nd February from 550km (342 miles) with the first pigeon being clocked in the Final Race will walk away with a cool US$25,000 (£16,225) “POT OF GOLD” for its efforts. I just goes to show how tough this round was because the last qualifying pigeon out of the 379 took 1,037th position in CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4, which just goes to prove that many of the form pigeons just did not perform well in this race.
