RPRA (Irish Region) Awards 2014 – The list of awards for the past racing season were announced at the recent meeting held in Carrickfergus. The Meritorious Awards are presented for individual bird performance from two cross channel races ie. Talbenny & Penzance, across each NIPA Section. They were won as follows. The awards were presented at the recent NIPA Ladies Night, President of the RPRA (Irish Region) Mr Sammy Thompson stepped forward to present the various awards as MC Mr Robert Reid Irish Region Secretary announced the winners. The Meritorious Awards are awarded for Individual Bird performance from two cross channel races, ie Talbenny & Penzance in each NIPA Section.

Section A – Karl Murphy, Coalisland & District, Vel 1062; Section B – MDC Magill, Ballymena & District, Vel 1072; Section C – McMurray & Anderson, Ligoniel & District, Vel 1142; Section D – Russell Bros, Dromara HPS, Vel 1061; Section E – No Claim; Section F – McGimpsey Bros, Ards HPS, Vel 1013; Section G – Ron Williamson, Newry & District, Vel 1045; Section H – Ken Armstrong, Omagh & District, Vel 1004.
Overall Cup Winner: McMurray & Anderson of Ligoniel & District, GB12L-22035, Vel 1142.

Irish Region Mileage Awards 2014: 0-250 Miles – Jeff Greenaway, Dromore HPS; 250-450 Miles – Allan McDonald, Portadown & Drumcree; 450+ Miles – Hector Cordner, Annaghmore. Best Young Bird Performance 2014 – Bingham & Seaton, Ligoniel & Dist. Best All-Round Performance 2014 – P & J Boal, Dromore. RPRA (Irish Region) Young Fancier of the Year 2014 – Jack Delaney & Ronan McCambridge, Ashfield. Runner-up Lee McSeveney Coleraine Prem and Ellie Marshall Comber Central. Young Fancier 0-250 Miles – Delaney & McCambridge, Ashfield.

Sect F Winners were McGimpsey Bros of Ards HPS.


Sect H Winners were Ken Armstrong of Omagh & District.


Jeff Greenaway from Dromore HPS won the Mileage Award 0-250 Miles.


Allan McDonald of Portadown & Drumcree won the Mileage Award 250-450 Miles.


Hector Cordner of Annaghmore won the Mileage Award for Over 450 Miles.


P & J Boal from Dromore won the Best All Round Performance.


Bingham & Seaton from Ligoniel had the Best Young Bird Performance.


Young Fancier of the Year was won by Delaney & McCambridge of Ashfield.


The Champions for the future Young Fancier of the Year.
