Fundraising Auction @ Sarsfield 04/03/16

Post by willie reynolds »

Announcement of a Fundraising Auction
every year we seem to be doing at least one of these auctions.
Behind every phone call to get the ball rolling on a fundraising event, there is a family going through an absolute hellish nightmare.
Every parent has thought and heard of young kids developing the dreaded cancer and thought what if it’s my child, unfortunately this is just what has happened with Alan, Valerie and their family, The young lad Ben is only 4 years of age and the last thing the family needs to worry about during the treatment is financial troubles.
So with this in mind we have decided to run this fundraising auction.
Alan Farrell is one of our own and races in the Finglas club here in Dublin and races a very good pigeon.
As usual when asked for anything especially for one of our own, the pigeon world has been only too happy to help out, time and time again these guys are asked to give up birds from their best and time and time again they do.
The auction will take place in the Sarsfield R.P.C. in Ballyfermot on Friday 4th of March 2016

Lads we still have some commission bids and donations to come in.
When all the money is confirmed and lodged we will give a total figure, as I said on Friday its looking like 20 grand.

Can I ask anyone who hasn\'t got their money in, to get it in as soon as possible.
Again a huge thanks to everyone who donated birds or raffle prizes, those who placed bids, bought tickets and of course all the lads on the night who helped out and gave their time.
Heno Byrne the auctioneer as usual done a brilliant job.
Tucker Daniel, Martin Emmett who sourced most of the birds.
Thomas McLouglin who sold a huge amount of tickets, Stephen Towell who looked after the raffle on the night.
Pat Craven who put the birds in and set the pens up.
Don\'t like mentioning names because there is always someone left out, again thanks for all your help and support, it was a brilliant effort and lifted the spirts of not only Ben and the family but the whole pigeon fraternity.

Kevin.
