Mid Antrim Combine Update

The Bude race last weekend was the most erratic of the season to date, some had very good returns while other had several missing at the clock checking. In the Champions League we had reached the semi-final matches and Ahoghill with two lofts in the running I was sure would get at least one place in the final. It was not to be and the final due to be flown from Penzance next weekend will be F & G & J Dickey (Randalstown) v J & M Milliken (Rasharkin). The Dixon Contractors sponsored event will see the winning club get £100 and the runner-up £50. A new name will appear on the trophy, will the man with the wee hamper beat the high flying loft of J & M Milliken both lofts are having a best ever season.

In the race best bird locally was timed in Ballymena & District W & J Smyth took top spot with a velocity 1238.047 taking 1st club, 1st Mid Antrim Combine, 1st Section and 21st Open. This Blue cock clocked at 13.52hrs flying 289 miles was also 5th club Penzance 2015, 19th section and 142nd Open where 616 members sent 5954 bird. The pigeon is a Koopman/Mazie breed and is consistently a good racer and breeder.

Cullybackey Centre – Arrangements for the Sennen Cove Classic are as follows. Entry fees etc. collected at Cullybackey Clubrooms on Tuesday 14th June between 8.30pm and 9.30pm. Birds will be race marked in Cullybackey on Thursday 16th June from 3.30pm until 5.30pm. The T3 clocks for this race will be set at Cullybackey Centre.
